For Easter this year, Tim Tebow reflected on Jesus’ sacrifice and gift of salvation.
“What if we took a moment to really see the gospel?” Tebow wrote alongside an Instagram clip. “It’s not just a story. It’s personal.”
“What we’ve been saved from is eternal separation from God. Who we’ve been saved by is a King who loves us so much He gave His life — put on flesh, lived perfectly, chose death not just for us, but instead of us. And what we’ve been saved for is a life made right with Him, a free gift we don’t earn,” he explained.
Even though believers have heard about salvation so many times, many forget just how unique it is. There is no other gift in the world like it, and there will never be another that comes close.

“When we really talk about the Gospel, we really need to understand what we’ve been saved from is eternal separation from God,” Tebow explained in the video. “Who we’ve been saved by is a king that loves us so much, that gave us his best, that came down, put on flesh, lived a perfect life, chose to die — not just for us but also instead of us. He loves us so much that he would give up himself.”
Tebow wrote, “This Easter, my new book, If the Tree Could Speak, invites us to see the cross from a new perspective — through the eyes of the tree that held Him — and let the weight of His sacrifice and love hit differently.”
Tebow felt inspired to write his new illustrated book, If the Tree Could Speak, after he reflected on Luke 19:40: “the rocks cry out…” It takes readers through the perspective that the cross had, as it carried Jesus’ body to his death.
“If creation is so ready to praise Him, how much more so would the tree that Jesus hung on Calvary’s cross, because it was the closest thing to Jesus on that day?” Tebow previously said of his thought-process for the book.
“I just started to weep thinking about this, about how many times I’ve known the love of God and the sacrifice that Jesus made, but how many times I’ve missed the mark,” the athlete added. “Not praising Him, not talking about Him, not sharing His love.”
He shared on Instagram, “This project challenged me to sit with the crucifixion differently — not as a symbol, but as a real moment in history that cost everything.”
He added that Jesus’ death isn’t a distant thing of the past.
“It was personal. For me. For you. For all of us,” he said.
