Action Sports Star Brian Deegan Reminds Parents to Base Life on Christ

Action sports legend Brian Deegan reflected on parenting, reminding his followers that the best thing they can do for their kids is follow Jesus.
“Many years and many decisions. So many people along the way some good some not so good,” Deegan posted on Instagram with a video of his son Haiden as a little boy. “The point is being able to learn from every situation. One of the main reasons we document so much [is] to go back and learn from it and allows us not to forget many memories.”
“The one thing we have always pushed is, if you’re going to do it let’s do it right and if it hasn’t been done before it doesn’t mean it can’t be done,” he continued. “And if my overdoing it stresses you out good cause things can always be done at a higher level. If someone is more successful than you ask them how they did it don’t hate on them. I love going back and watching old videos of the kids. It’s wild to think the decisions and discipline you applied at a young age shapes and molds them for the future more than you know.”
“Parenting has been the biggest challenge yet the most rewarding bottom line,” he concluded. “Are we perfect? No! There is only one man that walked this earth that was perfect and if you do your best to base your life around that you’ll be all right.”
Deegan often shares about his family on social media.
He recently celebrated his anniversary with his wife, Marissa.
“Crazy how fast time flies. Happy to do life with you,” he wrote. “God clearly had a plan for us and our family. We both obviously questioned it many times, as the best ones are the hardest to tame ?. it clearly was meant to be ?. Super thankful on this day for all our friends and family that we have been surrounded with.”
Deegan also reflected on why his faith is important.
“Just letting you in on the things that help me hold it together because as we all know, life can be very difficult at times and yet rewarding,” he wrote. “Also, the foundation of Christianity has helped us in many ways basically the manual to holding it together. We are far from perfect, so I need all the help I can get. Stay strong my friends. Time for men to be bold!”

The X Games star prioritizes his family first. In a recent YouTube video, Deegan and his family took a much-needed vacation after a long year of racing.
The family went to Lake Powell, Utah, where they spent multiple days on a houseboat.
“So many memories in my phone pics,” Deegan shared on his Instagram. “Cool to go back and check it out to spark some good times. With a little effort you could be on a fun adventure exploring the country with the fam. I’ve traveled the world and some of the coolest things to see are in America out in the wild. You will never regret this time with the fam. Life goes by fast don’t waste it.”
