Candace Cameron Bure Announces Son’s Engagement: ‘Very Excited’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Candace Cameron Bure is celebrating a new addition to her family — her son Lev is getting married.
“We are gaining a daughter very soon. My son is getting married just after Christmas, and so we’re very excited,” Bure told Us Magazine. “She is definitely, definitely invited into the family, but we’ll see how the holidays work out in that way. Now it’s, like, two families. We’ll probably be vying for the kids every year.”
The actress said she has no plans to get too involved in the wedding planning.
“I’m definitely finding my place in the wedding and just being supportive, and I love that. Of course, I want to help and do everything, but I’m learning to settle into my position of just being available and supportive,” Bure said.
Bure also shared the advice she’s giving Lev as he prepares for this new chapter in his life.
“I think the marriage advice has been [given] along the way,” the actress explained. “That’s what parenting is, right? It’s just like constant teaching and advice. They are great people, and we are rooting them on. They’re amazing.”
She continued, “So, I think the best advice for them is that they know that we’re here for them for any questions, any needs that they want. We’re always here and ready to be available and answer.”
Bure shares Lev with husband Valeri Bure, as well as daughter Natasha and son Maksim.
She has previously spoken about the importance of being a mother, telling Washington Times News that being a parent was “my season of life.”
“I truly flourished,” Bure said. “I flourished in it in the relationship with my children, in my relationship with my husband, and in my relationship, most of all, with God.”
She celebrated her family in a recent post, writing, “A very Bure Thanksgiving with all my babies in one place!!! Beyond grateful for this family the Lord has blessed me with.”
Movieguide® previously reported on how Bure has made faith a part of her children’s lives from the very beginning:
Both Kirk and Candace grew up in Los Angeles, where they were flooded with Hollywood and culture that often rebelled against God.
Candace said that raising her family in that culture was only possible when they kept God at the center of their family. Candace shares three children with her husband, Valeri Bure.
“Los Angeles itself isn’t the most god-seeking city that I know, there’s a lot of of other cities in the U.S that I would find much more open to talking about God and church and all of those things,” Candace said. “You had to really find stand your ground if that’s what you believed in, just with your own neighbors—that we are God’s children and that God’s the priority in our life.”
She added that consistent prayer and reading God’s word is essential. Candace also said that she had ongoing discussions with her children about why they believe what they believe.
“Spending time to read the Bible as a family and talk about scripture and have conversations and tell the ‘why’ to why we make the decisions we make,” she said of teaching her children. “The ‘why’ is because God says this or the Bible says this and to just keep reiterating that.”
