FULL HOUSE star Candace Cameron Bure shared how she gets along with people of other beliefs.
“My best friend has different political beliefs and is a different religion than me,” Bure explained in a recent episode on her podcast. “… I said, ‘This is a safe place. I don’t know about your friends. Maybe some of your other friends can’t have a conversation and still like you if you don’t agree with them.’”
“I said, ‘But I can still be friends with you and like you and we can have this.’ And my whole point is… It’s not about debating. I can have the conversation,” she explained.
She explained that she can peacefully share a perspective with someone and receive their perspective without any disagreements.
“I want you to see a different perspective, and I want you to see Jesus in it, but even if you don’t agree with it in this moment, it’s just to get you thinking, and I still love you, and I still hope you love me,” the Teddy Bear Award® winner said.
In another podcast episode, she said that friendships with people of other beliefs are a “beautiful thing.”
“It really causes you to have to think about what you do believe. So if they ask me this question, well what is it that I do believe? If I say I’m a Christian, what does being a Christian mean…What is the gospel? They sharpen your faith,” she said.
Bure’s identity, above all else, is a follower of Christ. She shows that in her conversations like this with her friends and in choices she makes.

“My faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of who I am. My faith is so important to me whether in celebration or in challenges,” Bure said previously. “I stay in God’s word, the Bible, so I am comforted by truth and the hope God gives to all humanity and not allow fear to drive my emotions or decisions. I also know that when I have feelings of hopelessness or fear, that God understands them and wraps His arms around us like the Father that He is.”
She puts God at the center of her life and affirms that frequently in her statements.
“The God we serve is a wildly creative and loving God,” she wrote in a previous Instagram post. “He didn’t just capture a small part of my heart, He has captured all of my heart. He will be reflected in everything I do and say; in my family, my work and my interactions with people from all walks of life.”
Grounded in her faith, Bure shows that strong beliefs exist right alongside kindness and grace.
