Reba McEntire’s son and his wife will soon have a baby — her first biological grandchild.
And it’s a boy!
McEntire’s son, Shelby Blackstock, and his wife, Marissa, recently shared a photo at Disney World, holding a blue and white Mickey Mouse onesie. They shared a photo of a cake iced with the words, “Oh Boy!” The baby will come in October 2026.
“Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October. See ya real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you,” Marissa captioned the post.
Reba is already nana to seven step-grandchildren, Country Living reported.
“Yes!!!!! I am so happy for you both,” REBA and HAPPY’S PLACE actress Melissa Peterman commented on the post. “The most incredible news! Beyond thrilled for you two,” REBA and SWEET MAGNOLIAS actress JoAnna Garcia Swisher added. “Yay!!!! Congrats,” actress Tracey Bregman commented.

This new pregnancy news is especially sweet. Last year, Marissa lost her father, brother-in-law, Brandon Blackstock, and had a miscarriage, Taste of Country reported.
When she lost her baby, she said, “Grief has a way of reshaping your world, and I’ve learned that to survive it, you have to search for even the faintest glimmer of meaning — the small silver thread that helps your heart keep going… That hope isn’t gone.”
“I know — it’s so early. But I wanted to acknowledge this for the people who have been excited for us. The ones who’ve followed our journey, our family, our heartbreaks and our hopes,” she wrote.
She acknowledged that her biological clock is ticking, but she doesn’t want to ever give up on her dream of motherhood.
“I’m not ready to set this dream down. Not now, not ever. If you’re walking through your own losses, I hope you find your small threads of light too. 🤍” she wrote.
Brandon passed away last year from a battle with cancer.
At the time, Reba said, “Last week, my stepson/oldest son Brandon Blackstock went home to be with God. His struggle is over and he is in eternal peace in God’s presence. There is no one else like him, and I’m thankful for the time we had together.”
“His legacy and laughter will be carried on through his family. Rest in peace cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again,” she said.
Shelby also made a post about his loss.
“Yesterday, we lost a brother, a father, a grandfather, and a son,” Shelby wrote. “Brandon Blackstock was an irreplaceable part of our family — funny, bright, and full of life — and he will be deeply missed. He taught me so much, leaving behind countless cherished memories that I will hold onto forever…”
After a year full of loss, this is a very hopeful new chapter for the whole family.
