Christian Artist Mac Powell: Why ‘The Cross Is for You’

Christian worship artist Mac Powell shared his thoughts on Christ’s death on the cross.
“Jesus didn’t just go through physical suffering on the cross,” Mac said in a video on YouTube. “His closest friends abandoned Him. Even His Father had to turn away because of the weight of our sin on His shoulders, and He endured all of that, not for Himself, but for you and me.”
“The cross is for you,” he said later on. “It’s for the ones who are lost, for the moments when you feel like you don’t matter and when you wonder if you’ll ever be enough. The cross is God’s way of saying, ‘You are seen. You are loved. You matter, and you were worth it.’”
Powell’s latest album “I Love Jesus” is packed with 11 tracks that beautifully describe Powell’s emotions towards Jesus.
“With I Love Jesus I wanted to return to the simplicity of what I do,” Powell shared in a post on his social media. “The gospel is a simple truth and I wanted to share that in simple songs that remind us of the love of Jesus. I believe this is some of my best work and songs and I can’t wait to hear the stories of how these songs impact your lives! Turn it up!”
Powell and his team have decided to hit the road and do an “I Love Jesus” tour. The tour started in Independence, MO, on March 6 and will end in Ridgway, Colorado on July 26.
