By Movieguide® Contributor
Danica McKellar celebrated a very special milestone this past Palm Sunday.
THE WONDER YEARS and Great American Family star shared that this Palm Sunday marked two years since she became a Christian.
“Easter week for me, this year marks two years of becoming a believer. That’s when Candace Cameron Bure brought me into her church on Palm Sunday, and we saw the passion play there at Shepherd Church,” McKellar shared in an interview with Fox News Digital.
“It changed my life,” she shared. “I don’t know what happened. Some people say the Holy Spirit came to me. All I know is that I knew I became a believer, and it was the most wonderful, transformative moment… I was flooded with this knowingness, and I have such peace from that still after two years, and I’m so grateful for it,” she added.
“Everything I always thought about there being some higher power and wanting to do the right thing, just because it’s the right thing, when no one’s watching, why that matters, and it all just came into focus,” she said of finding faith. “And I feel so blessed.”
McKellar also shared her plans for Easter with her family and her son Draco.
“We will go to Easter church services, and we will do an egg hunt,” she told Fox News Digital. “We’ll do all the things. We celebrate it all.”
On Easter Sunday, McKellar took to Instagram to share an encouraging message.
“Happy Easter!! Feeling so blessed to be surrounded by family on this most holy day. ✝️🙏 Sending LOVE to every single person reading this (yes, YOU!). 💕💕 May the peace of the Lord be with you and in your hearts today and always. And enjoy those chocolate bunnies! 😁💕 #HeIsRisen 🙏”
McKellar attributes her journey to find faith in Christ to her friend and fellow GAF star Candace Cameron Bure. Movieguide® previously reported:
Great American Family actors Danica McKellar and Candace Cameron Bure recently discussed their faith and how they celebrate the Christmas holiday.
McKellar recently joined the CANDACE CAMERON BURE PODCAST and thanked Bure for her gift of a bible which led to a new relationship with Jesus earlier this year.
“Candace, I don’t wanna brush over the huge, huge impact that you’ve had on my life this year,” McKellar said. “I don’t even know how to call that like friendship, it’s more than that. Because of you helping me to find my relationship with God and Jesus, it’s been like a revolution in my life. It’s been a revelation in my life.”
“You gave me this Bible that I read all the time and I love it so much and I go to church now and I just, I talk to Jesus all the time every day. It’s unbelievable. And you were like my guide. You were just an angel in my life and you still are. And I just wanna thank you for that publicly,” she added.
