Former BACHELOR Matt James Reacts To Mom On THE GOLDEN BACHELOR
By Movieguide® Contributor
Former BACHELOR contestant Matt James is reacting to his mom, Patty, joining the cast of THE GOLDEN BACHELOR.
“I ccc uuu mama,” he posted on his Instagram Stories, along with Patty’s show bio picture and a flaming-heart emoji.
Matt is still dating Rachael Kirkconnell, the woman who received the final rose on his season of THE BACHELOR.
During his time on the show, Matt spoke about his Christian faith and even led other contestants in prayer. Movieguide® reported:
The new BACHELOR star, Christian Matt James, turned to prayer the night he met with the ladies vying for his heart.
“Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for bringing us all together healthy. Give these women the courage to get through these next few months,” James prayed with the group. “You say that you work all things for the good of those who love you and are called according to your purpose, Father God. And I feel like that’s why I’m here and I feel like that’s why these women are here, Lord.”
He explained the moment to Entertainment Tonight.
“First and foremost, I was extremely nervous. I was shaking walking up there. I wanted Chris to walk me inside and he left me. So, I’m just walking in there and whenever I’m feeling that type of way or anxious I’m just like, ‘Man, let me pray about this.’ And that’s what I did.”
He continued: “It put me at ease, and I’m hoping that the women saw that. I just wanted them to see where I go to in my times of anguish and when I’m stressed out, so that’s what that was.”
Patty also posted about the reality show, writing, “Sooo exciting…” under a series of photos from a promotional photoshoot she and the other contestants took part in.
THE GOLDEN BACHELOR sees Patty and 21 other women competing to win over Gerry Turner.
Turner was married to his high school sweetheart, Toni, for 43 years before she passed away in 2017. Now, he’s hoping to find love on THE GOLDEN BACHELOR.
“No one’s ever going to replace Toni,” Turner shared but added that he was hopeful about finding someone new.
“I want to fall in love,” he said. “I really want to find my person who can put me in my place when I need it and make me smile at it. The person who can lay down beside you at night, not have to say anything, and you feel it. That’s love. That’s what I want, and I know that person’s out there.”
Turner continued, “What I look for at the age of 70 is different from what I looked for in high school and college. So, I believe I’ll find my person — the new person that will make me whole again. And I think we’ll knit a wonderful relationship. But I don’t think it’ll look like the relationship I had with Toni. And I don’t think it would be right to do it that way.”
