For KING + COUNTY Release Soundtrack Album as UNSUNG HERO Hits Theaters

As UNSUNG HERO hit theaters nationwide, for KING + COUNTRY released a new album comprised of the songs featured in the movie.
“What a field day we had with this album! We have more features than any album we’ve ever done, having had the opportunity to take these incredibly nostalgic 90s songs and re-imagine them with a for KING + COUNTRY flair,” said Luke and Joel Smallbone.
“We’ve been able to partner with multiple artists on their songs – Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Rebecca St. James, Stryper, and more,” they continued. “It’s been quite an adventure, a creative process to re-envision these songs. We hope everyone enjoys them as much as we enjoyed making them!”
The 12-track album titled “The Inspired By Soundtrack” features formerly released singles, “Place In This World” feat. Michael W. Smith, “Checking In” feat. Lee Brice, “Lead Me On” feat. Amy Grant and “To Hell With The Devil (RISE)” with Lecrae and Stryper.
These tracks were all featured in for KING + COUNTRY’s new movie, UNSUNG HERO, which tells the improbable story of their childhood move to America and the way God worked through their family’s faith.
UNSUNG HERO debuted last weekend, landing the No. 2 spot at the box office. A portion of Movieguide®’s review reads:
UNSUNG HERO is a powerful, compelling story of faith and family, told with lots of sincerity and heart. The acting and writing is very good and convincing. UNSUNG HERO has a strong Christian, biblical worldview. The movie’s strong start is a testament to audiences’ desire for uplifting movies. Last year saw multiple faith-based movies like JESUS REVOLUTION and SOUND OF FREEDOM draw millions to theaters, and this year looks to do the same as numerous projects aim for a 2024 release. The strength of USUNG HERO’s release should remind and encourage other Christian filmmakers that audiences want to see their projects.

SOUND OF FREEDOM is inspiring studios to invest in a new generation of faith-based content as audience demand continues to grow.
Producer Jon Erwin, known for Teddy Bear Award® winners JESUS REVOLUTION and I CAN ONLY IMAGINE, offered some advice to Angel Studios for SOUND OF FREEDOM, another Teddy Bear Award® winner. After its massive box-office success, he joked, “It wasn’t supposed to work this much!”
“As SOUND OF FREEDOM inspired box-office think pieces and conspiracy-theory controversy, Erwin and partner Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten were in talks with Amazon Studios. Today, their company The Wonder Project is producing a slate of faith-based series and films; Erwin said he’d ‘be lying’ if he believed SOUND OF FREEDOM didn’t help him get a better deal,” IndieWire wrote.
