FRASIER Season 2 Reboot Brings Back Dan Butler, Edward Hibbert

Paramount+ has grabbed Dan Butler and Edward Hibbert to take back their former roles from the original FRASIER series in the reboot’s upcoming second season.

“Dan Butler and Edward Hibbert will reprise their roles as, respectively, Bob “Bulldog” Briscoe and Gil Chesterton, Frasier Crane’s (Kelsey Grammer) former co-workers at the Seattle radio station in the original FRASIER series, which ran on NBC from 1993-2004,” The Hollywood Reporter said. “Details on how they come back into Frasier’s life are being kept quiet for now.”

“Dan Butler and Edward Hibbert have made an indelible contribution to television, and I am overjoyed to welcome them back to FRASIER and for the opportunity to work together once again,” Grammer said.

Butler’s other screen history includes HEY ARNOLD, THE BLACKLIST, ELEMENTARY and CBS’s BLUE BLOODS. Hibbert also starred in BLUE BLOODS, as well as GRACE AND FRANKIE and SEARCH PARTY.

The FRASIER reboot depicts Frasier’s return to Boston as he reconnects with his son, Freddy. The second season started production last month, but no release date has been announced.

Movieguide® recently reported on Season 2’s cast:

Patricia Heaton, best known for her role in the sitcom EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, will join the cast as Frasier’s new love interest.

Deadline reported, “She will play Holly who is down-to-earth, unpretentious, and openly mocking of overly-intellectual types. A Boston native who tends bar at upscale restaurants and events, Holly is extraordinarily comfortable with both who and where she is in life, a quality that the always-climbing, always-reaching Frasier (Grammer) finds as alien as he does attractive.”

“Peri Gilpin (who guest-starred in the revival’s first season finale) will reprise her role as Roz in the coming season, where she’ll recur. Patricia Heaton – who starred with Grammer in Fox’s Back to You in 2007-08 – Yvette Nicole Brown, Amy Sedaris and Grammer’s daughter Greer Grammer are also set for guest roles,” The Hollywood Reporter said.

The show also stars Jack Cutmore-Scott, Nicholas Lyndhurst, Toks Olagundoye, Jess Salgueiro and Anders Keith.
