‘Girls Gone Bible’ Hosts Tell Sadie Robertson Huff ‘We’re Bringing People Jesus’

By Movieguide® Contributor

The hosts of the “Girls Gone Bible” podcast are sharing how their faith journey has encouraged them to reach out to others.

“When we first started the podcast, we stepped into ministry, and it was our first time stepping into ministry. We didn’t even really know that’s what we were doing. We just knew that we love Jesus, and we wanted to talk about it,” Angela Halili, one of the hosts, said while appearing on Sadie Robertson Huff’s “WHOA That’s Good” podcast.

She continued, “The point is that we’re looking for Jesus, and we’re bringing people Jesus. Revival is going to happen, no matter what.”

Co-host Arielle Reitsma described her own faith journey, saying, “I was introduced to the Bible about a year ago, and when I opened it for the first time in my life, my eyes were opened up to the truth, and those pages gave me hope, and they gave me a safety that I always lacked in my life.”

Halili called the podcast’s popularity “such a crazy journey.”

Last year, Halili and Reitsma celebrated reaching the top of the Spotify podcast charts in the Religion & Spirituality category.

“There’s no way for us to accurately express how we feel about this,” the pair wrote on Instagram. “all we know is, 6 months ago, we were just a couple of Jesus freaks who wanted to tell others about how God had radically saved our lives. we wanted to introduce and reintroduce people to who Jesus really is.”

The post continued, “from the bottom of our hearts, we never expected GGB to become what it has become. we still don’t understand it. but all we know is that we love you. and Jesus loves you even more. let’s continue pursuing God with our whole hearts and getting to know Jesus more intimately and personally. He’s all that matters. He is really all that matters. Glory to Jesus.”

The pair also talk about how they are continuing to grow in their faith.

“We’re learning every single day,” Reitsma said in an episode of “Girls Gone Bible.” “We understand that with the platform that we have, we need to do right. We do not want to be ignorant. We want to glorify God. We can’t just talk the talk. We have to walk the walk.”

Even though their podcast is popular, Halili and Reitsma continue to emphasize the importance of reading the Bible yourself.

“Everything we do really based on the fact [that] every single episode, we have this whole segment where we just beg people to start reading the Bible,” Halili shared. “Open it up yourself. That’s what’s going to change your life.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Huff:

Sadie Robertson Huff and author April Rogers recently discussed why we need to give our worries to God on an episode of Huff’s “WHOA That’s Good” podcast.

“Worry robs us of trusting the Lord to meet our needs. We falsely believe that if we worry, we can invoke some kind of control over our situation. But in reality, God is the one who is in control and has the power to change out situation,” Huff read from Roger’s new book “Resting In Jesus.”

Resting in Jesus,” a 30-day devotional, teaches readers the “art of letting go of daily chaos to find perfect peace in Christ.”

“When our phones are pinging, children are crying, emails are pouring in, and the refrigerator is empty, finding time to rest in Jesus can seem like a near impossible task. If we aren’t being productive, we feel like missing out and falling behind. But Christ invites us to sit at His feet, especially in the midst of our daily chaos,” a summary reads.
