HEARTLAND actress Amber Marshall knows she has a platform and wants to use it to encourage others to be themselves.

“I think that for me, it’s being true to who you are and who you are down here, not who you think you should be,” Marshall said when asked what her highest values are. “Because I think a lot of people confuse the two of them. They think, ‘Oh, people see me as this, you know, people want me to be this person, so that’s who I’m going to project.’ And for me it’s like, what do I feel when I do something? Does it feel right? Because…we all have an inner gauge of ‘Does this feel like I’m doing it for me, or does this feel like I’m doing it for other people?’”

Marshall explained how, as someone in the spotlight, she sometimes feels like she’s supposed to set a certain example, but being yourself is the best thing anyone can do.

“I think for me that example is just be true to who you are,” she said.

She’s glad her show HEARTLAND sets the example for family-friendly content.

“I think fans are really looking for a nice, wholesome, family show that they can sit down together and watch and not be worried about the content. Not have to explain things to their kids,” Marshall explained. “That is their common thread. It’s something we can all enjoy and sit and talk about. In such a fast-paced world, where so many people are separated by devices and technology. Everybody is very disconnected, but they can still get together to sit and watch our show together.”

Season 17 of the show is available on UP Faith & Family while the first 16 seasons are available to stream on Netflix.

HEARTLAND was just renewed for Season 18 in May.

“No official Season 18 release date has been announced, but based on the show’s history, we have a fairly good idea of when new episodes might debut in the United States. Season 17 premiered on October 1, 2023, in Canada before making its U.S. debut on Up Faith & Family in late April 2024,” Decider reported.

Movieguide® previously reported on HEARTLAND:

HEARTLAND’s Amber Marshall is sharing some details about the show’s seventeenth season.

“When I think about all the hours we have spent filming this show and…I’m still not sick of it, so that’s saying something!” she joked about HEARTLAND’s longevity.

Marshall also mentioned how nice it is to film the show outside, saying her fellow actor friends are in studios all day.

“I think that’s what makes us really lucky and what stands out about HEARTLAND is that we get to see it all, and we get to be a part of all the seasons and actually be outside enjoying the weather,” she explained.

The actress said the show’s stunning outdoor sets have “a warmth” in them that matches the themes of the show, adding, “The whole idea of HEARTLAND is this nice, family contentment and it’s found right here.”
