Did Someone Say Podcast? This HGTV Star Wants to Try Something New
By Movieguide® Contributor
HOME TOWN’s Ben Napier just announced the renewal of his series on Jan. 27, but he also shared he wants to jump on some podcasts.
“ATTENTION: here’s some film from last year. Pictures of @erinapier and I working or not working,” he shared on Instagram. “Which, is what we’ve been doing since Christmas. A little of both.”
“We will start filming again soon, but I am wanting to do something different! I am wanting to do some podcast interviews. Today is my brother Tom’s birthday and he told me that we should start being guests on podcasts since it’s all he listens to on the road. So, if you’ve got a podcast or know of one we should do, shoot me a DM. Here.”
Napier listed a whole slew of topics he’d love to gab about, and his followers jumped in with lots of encouragement, offering up which podcasts he should guest star on. Some commented that he should go on the DUCK DYNASTY guys’ podcast, “Unashamed.”
Ben said, “Here [are some] topics we can discuss:”
Cars
Art
Houses
Small towns
Gardening
Manufacturing
American Made
Florida
Mississippi
Food
Paint colors
Wood working
Cellular phones
Social media
Parenting
Christmas
Duke
Ole Miss
Napier has been dipping into some other projects, too. He recently asked his followers how to find a vintage truck to fix up with his oldest child, Helen, who has a dream of driving an old blue truck when she’s older.

Napier recently spoke about the charm of Laurel, Mississippi, and HOME TOWN.
“Laurel has a diverse group of characters and a diverse group of houses,” he said. “Those houses become the characters. You can talk about the southern charm and all that of everybody talking to everybody, in our experience, we met that everywhere we go.”
When they launched their spin-off show, HOME TOWN TAKEOVER, Napier and his wife, Erin, had a tough time.
Erin said of the first season, “I was pregnant, and we had a toddler, and it was COVID, and we didn’t know anybody.” Both of their moms had to step in and help them get off the ground.
As parents of two young girls now, they have to be careful how they balance their work and home life. Once, when one of their daughters got sick, they had to cancel a whole week of filming.
HOME TOWN TAKEOVER Season 3 comes out Mar. 9. In it, the Napiers head to Sebring, Florida, a historic lakeside town suffering from hurricane damage.
“Sebring has a lake, a racetrack and a park in the center of town,” Ben said. “All the puzzle pieces are there, but somehow they’re still struggling.”
“In order to turn this place around, we’re helping the town’s biggest changemakers, so they can keep transforming people’s lives,” Erin said. “We’ll use everything we’ve learned from years of community revitalization efforts to keep this town’s heart beating.”
The Napier’s team will renovate Sebring homes, a Cuban café and the theater. They’ll also paint murals and add a gazebo in the town’s park.
