Jenny Marrs shared a special prayer for any vacationers who are preparing to travel this summer.

“A liturgy for Leaving on Holiday,” she wrote in an Instagram post featuring a video of her family’s trip to Italy last summer. “Prepare our hearts to revel in new exploration of cities not our own, and of landscapes less familiar.”

Marrs continued, “Along our way, in such places whose contours you deliberately created, may we pause to savor the evidences of your diverse imagination expressed in glories of scenery, and in an artistry of peoples and cultures.”

The HGTV star prayed for time “to rest, to reflect, to enjoy your company, your words, your conversation, to enjoy their fellowship with one another,” as well as time “to carve out spaces merely to be, to be with you, to be together, to be refreshed.”

“You are our rest, Jesus,” Marrs wrote. “May this vacation serve your holy purposes. May the deep enjoyment and the grand adventure of it stir within us eternal longings, whetting our anticipation of that best holiday celebration that will one day encompass all days, and all of heaven and all of earth.”

She concluded, “Re-sharing this post from last summer for everyone leaving on a holiday in the coming months.”

This summer, Marrs and her family are hard at work on their berry farm. In a recent Instagram post, she wrote, “This small blueberry farm has taught us that we can all DO something bigger than ourselves. The ripple effect of these fields reaches farther than we ever anticipated. It isn’t easy but it is simple: profits from our u-pick farm in NW Arkansas benefit a farm training program for orphaned teens in Marondera, Zimbabwe.”

She continued, “This farm is one of the legacy’s Dave and I want to pass down to our children. We want them to value hard work and nature and, most of all, generosity. We want them to understand that it’s never ‘us’ and ‘them.’”

Marrs is also fine-tuning her latest book, titled Trust God, Love People. It’s set to hit bookstores later this year.

“This book is so vulnerable and I’ve prayed so hard over it and for every person who reads it,” she posted on Instagram. “As you read the stories God has written in my life, I’ve prayed that you will take the time to pause and look back at your own story and marvel at your own markers of His faithfulness.”

Marrs’ prayer for all the travelers this summer is a reminder to slow down and really enjoy our time off with friends and family.
