How Christ Transformed This Actor’s Perspective on Morality
By Movieguide® Contributor
Russell Brand’s relationship with God has given him stability and guides his moral decisions, something he didn’t have before becoming a Christian.
“Since coming to Christ, or Christ coming to me, one of the massive benefits of this has been that I’m no longer left as a solitary adventurer when it comes to determining what moral cause to make through issues because it’s already sort of predetermined by, not only scripture, but by actions of Christ,” he explained on Instagram. “It’s also a set of morals that supersede whatever governmental or moral authority might be used to oppose it.”
Fans commented in support of Brand’s growth as a Christian.
“Go Russel! So excited for you and your walk with Christ!” one person said. Another person commented, “Well said. You will know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”
Brand has been open about his walk with Jesus since announcing his baptism last April.
“I feel as if some new resource within me has switched on…this is my path now, and I already feel incredibly blessed, relieved, nourished, held…this is new to me, and it’s a joy to me,” he said in a video announcing his decision last year.

Since then, he’s been sharing what he’s learned about Jesus with his followers.
“When I am in doubt, I feel the instruction there is accessible, and I know what I am supposed to do, and when I don’t do what I am supposed to do, that is even clearer,” Brand said last May. “When I feel myself being selfish or inconsiderate or putting myself first or not thinking about how I can be better to other people, it is as if there is an inner illumination available to me now.”
