How Kirk Cameron Experienced ‘Rumblings of Revival’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Siblings Candace Cameron Bure and Kirk Cameron took to Instagram Live recently to discuss Cameron’s new book “Born to be Brave: How to be a Part of America’s Spiritual Comeback.” Before discussing the book, Bure suggested the two pray for those in path of Hurricane Milton. After praying for protection, Cameron opened up about his hopes for a spiritual revival in America and the inspiration behind his book.

“I’ve found that there are so many parents out there who are generally pessimistic and depressed about the future of the world for their children,” he said. “And they’re almost at the place of hopelessness with regard to whether or not their kids are going to have the same kind of opportunities and freedoms that we grew up with.”

The author explained his motivation for the book and encouraged believers to show courage in uncertain times.

“I wanted to write a book that was really inspired by all that I was learning from the heroes of history, my friend Marshall Foster, and from the scriptures that point out the fact that God never loses,” he said. “The kingdom never retreats. That the Gospel is always on the offense. The gates of hell do not prevail against it. And what if this current cultural setback is really a divine set up for a spiritual come back led by the family of faith?”

Cameron explained “Born to be Brave: How to be a Part of America’s Spiritual Comeback” is geared towards people of all ages.

“This was written for parents, for grandparents, for young adults, for teenagers.”

He continued, “The premise is that God didn’t save us to be cowards and to huddle in the corner or sit on our couch watching Fox News crying in our Chick-Fil-A soup, praying for the rapture so that we can escape all of the badness. I think that the Gospel has victory written all over it, and no matter whether you have kids or you don’t have kids… if God saved you, he saved you, and he gave you a birthright of courage.”

The Christian activist revealed he’s seen the “rumblings of revival” in America during his travels across the nation while promoting his new book.

“I feel the rumblings of revival. People are waking up and parents are saying, you know, our forefathers and foremothers didn’t spill their blood in vain. They didn’t suffer and sacrifice and go through all the things that they did to give us the freest, strongest, most blessed and generous nation in the world for us to just hand it away on our watch,” Cameron told Fox News Digital.

Cameron views the current political strife as an opportunity for American Believers to lead the nation toward a spiritual comeback.

“I believe with all my heart that it is and that God did not create us and rescue us through the Gospel to be cowards,” he said. “And that we have a birthright of courage, and if we will lean into that courage as people of faith and live out our values and put feet to our faith in love, we can and will realign the nation with Heaven’s values.”

Movieguide® previously reported more about Cameron’s new book:

“His latest book, ‘Born to be Brave: How to be a Part of America’s Spiritual Comeback,’ details how Christianity is linked to America’s founding and values. ‘The whole thing — from the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence — only works if you understand that the foundation needs to be the biblical, moral, spiritual values that the founders were standing on when they wrote it. And if that goes away, the whole thing crumbles,” Cameron said. “And so if the family of faith does not show up and vote their values, well, that just leaves a great big vacuum and others will gladly rush in to fill the void, and then you end up burning the whole thing down from the inside.’”
