Katy Nichole Reveals How She ‘Turn[s] to Jesus’ Every Day

By Movieguide® Contributor

On a recent episode of the Candace Cameron Bure Podcast, Katy Nichole shares what it looks like to incorporate Jesus into her everyday life.

Throughout season three of Bure’s podcast, Nichole has shared the heart behind every song on her album “Jesus Changed My Life.” She wanted the final song, “Turn To Jesus,” to leave people with something that would impact their daily lives.

“It was kind of easy for me to decide to put this one last,” she said. “It’s a song that I wanted people to remember, and I feel like the last thing you hear is going to be the thing you remember,” she continued.

“‘Turn To Jesus” was placed as the final song on @katynicholemusic album to serve as a reminder that no matter what your day looks like or where you find yourself, you can always turn to Jesus,” Candace Cameron Bure shared on her podcast’s Instagram.

“The song talks about acknowledging the presence of Jesus throughout your entire day,” she added.

The song begins with the morning, turning to Jesus even as your feet hit the floor. It moves to the evening, and Nichole reflects on going to Him when her mind is racing as she goes to bed.

“It’s basically me talking about how I actually go about my day thinking about Jesus,” Nichole explained.

The song also incorporates the hymn “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus,” a song that gives Nichole chills every time she hears it.

“If I was going to put any hymn into the song, that was the one that felt right to me,” she said.

Nichole’s desire to inspire other Christians is certainly felt on her album. Her songs will surely help Christians connect with God for many years to come.

Movieguide® previously reported:

“Take it to the cross. Take it to the Savior. Lay it at the feet of the Mercy Giver. Take it to the one who can wash your sins away. There’s healing in his holy name,” Bure said, reciting the lyrics.

“So Katie,” she asked, “what does it actually mean for someone who doesn’t speak Christian-ese?”

“This is a song that is about surrender. It’s about taking all of the worries that you’re holding onto and giving them to God,” Nichole explained. “And by doing that, you’re going to sit in prayer with him. You’re going to talk to him. If you don’t talk to him, how could you ever let these things go?”
