Love, Peace and Joy: 10 Verses That Embody the Christmas Spirit
By Movieguide® Contributor
Ready to get in the Christmas spirit this year? Here are some verses to remind us of our Savior’s birth and a few of the gifts He’s given us — peace, love and joy.
God Gives Peace
“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.”
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
God Gives Love, and We Should Love Like Him
“Let all that you do be done in love.”
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”
“Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.”

God Gives Everlasting Joy
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!”
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
“And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.’”
We can spread peace, love and joy this season by keeping the Christmas story and these verses close to heart. Share them with friends or family, write them on your Christmas gifts and retell the story of Jesus’ birth with loved ones to remember the true meaning of Christmas this year.
You can also listen to some thoughtfully written music to remember what’s important. Anne Wilson’s “I Still Believe in Christmas” and Lauren Daigle’s “Light of The World” are some great songs to listen to this season.
Merry Christmas!
