THE MASKED SINGER’s Afghan Hound Revealed: ‘Want to Make My Family Smile’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Another week has gone by, and another MASKED SINGER has been revealed. Warning: spoilers ahead!
The Afghan Hound was voted off this week after coming in close with the Gumball. When asked to take their final guesses, all of the judges missed the mark.
“Robin Thicke guessed Bethenny Frankel. Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg said Brooke Hogan. Ken Jeong picked Olivia Jade. New panelist Rita Ora named Sistine Stallone,” Variety reported.
When the mask came off, Savanah Chrisley from CHRISLEY KNOWS BEST was revealed as the face behind the mask.
The pre-taped introduction played before her performance alluded to the family troubles that the Chrisleys have faced.
“Every single day I tell myself to be brave,” the video began. “When I was young, I would dream what life could be like over the rainbow. And for my family and I, the dreams we dared to dream came true. Best of all, we were together. Until recently. Suddenly, it was like our whole house came crashing down. And I found myself alone, lost and left to pick up the pieces. But I had to keep going and learn to laugh through the pain. I know I’m not a good singer, but I’m here to put on a fun performance and just have a great time. I want to make my family smile and laugh from afar.”
Chrisley’s parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison due to federal fraud and tax evasion, which they began serving in 2023.
TODAY reported, “The couple reported to their respective prisons in mid-January 2023, with Todd Chrisley originally serving 12 years at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida, while Julie Chrisley reported to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Lexington in Kentucky for her seven-year sentence.”
When her parent’s legal troubles came to light, Chrisley put her faith in God to overcome hard times.
“Recently, I’ve felt let down by God, that my relentless prayers have been unheard,” she said in an Instagram post. “But I do believe that He will use every hardship and adversity we go through to strengthen us and prepare us for an even greater purpose. So I will continue believing in our Lord and Savior…I pray for strength, hope, and love.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Chrisley:
After Savannah Chrisley became the legal guardian of her two younger siblings in November 2022, she has come to view motherhood in a different light as she experiences the highs and lows of the job.
“I always used to say I will have however many kids God will allow. That was my viewpoint,” Chrisley told “The Adversity Advantage” podcast, per PEOPLE. “I don’t know; I think when you’re young, you think kids are easy, right? No.”
She’s raising “her brother Grayson, 17, and her niece Chloe, 10, while her parents Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley serve their respective prison sentences.”
“After having Chloe and Grayson, if anything, it slowed my timeline down on things. But I always said God meant for me to be a mom. If I don’t do anything right with my life, that’s going to be the one thing that I do right,” she continued.
