MISTLETOE MURDERS star Sarah Drew is sharing her favorite Christmas traditions.
“Traditions are so important,” she told HELLO!, adding that she is a “big holiday person.”
Drew hosts a Christmas caroling party, is part of a musical group that records a holiday album each year, and performs at her church’s Christmas Eve service every year. She and her husband also hold a big Christmas Eve party. Their family also began a new tradition a few years ago.
“We started a new tradition the year the movie SPIRITED came out in 2022,” the actress shared. “When we decorate the tree, my husband makes us Manhattan cocktails, and the kids get sparkling apple cider, and we put on the movie and decorate the tree and that’s become a very fun tradition.”
The GREY’S ANATOMY star added, “But for me it’s about the sacred aspect of it; I could not care less about Santa! I love the new beginning of it all, of love entering the world to heal the brokenhearted, and I try to infuse that into all the projects I participate in.”

That theme of new beginnings — as well as holiday cheer — runs through the second season of MISTLETOE MURDERS.
In an interview with TVBrittanyF.com, Drew shared, “A lot of people, at the end of the first season, the main thing they wanted was more of [her character’s] Emily’s backstory. They were really excited to learn more about who she was.”
“So what’s really fun about Season 2 is that we have tons of flashbacks; we really get to take her historical journey over the course of many years,” she continued. “We have a young actress playing a young me for the first few episodes, and then I get to come in and play a younger version of myself in future episodes. We learn a lot more about where she came from.”
Drew also recently addressed fans’ questions about a third season of the Christmas crime show.
“Quick PSA,” she posted on Instagram. “@mistletoemurdersofficial has NOT been picked up for season three (yet)! The internet says it has but that is a false rumor. We promise we will tell you as soon as we know anything officially. We love you! We LOVE your passion. We LOVE reading your comments!!! We love the show and are praying for a pickup!!!”
Whether it’s through her holiday-themed projects, or her own special Christmas traditions, Drew is all about celebrating this special time of year!
