Comedian Nate Bargatze wants his movie, THE BREADWINNER, to be an affordable family affair.
“Hello, everybody! My movie THE BREADWINNER is coming out May 29, and I’ve got something very exciting that I wanted to let you know,” Bargatze said on Instagram. “So the Nate Rate is a special kind of lower ticket price because we want everyone to come out to this movie. This movie is for your grandparents, grandkids, aunts, uncles, friends, sister…anybody. Your dog, cats, I think, will love this movie, specifically. Anybody that wants to come out.”
“…I remember going to the movies with my family growing up and it didn’t break the bank,” the clean comedian added in the caption. “I want to get back to that, which is why I came up with a special ticket deal to get you lower prices at participating theaters. We’re calling it the Nate Rate. Every Nate Rate deal is a little different, so check your local theater’s website to figure out your Nate Rate.”

Even though studios can’t dictate the price, The Hollywood Reporter said, cinema operators have indicated they’re willing to lower the ticket price the same way they did for the showing of 80 FOR BRADY.
AMC Theaters “was among a number of circuits who had already agreed to use matinee pricing for showings of THE BREADWINNER, while Cinemark may discount prices by as much as 25 percent. Pricing and availability will vary, so audiences will need to check their local listings,” THR reported.
Families are sure to love THE BREADWINNER. It follows Bargatze’s salesman character Nate Wilcox and Mandy Moore as his wife, Katie.
“To Nate and their three children, Katie is the ultimate mom – she manages their comically chaotic household with equal parts efficiency and love, and everything runs perfectly. But when Katie’s household invention leads to a once-in-a-lifetime deal on Shark Tank and takes her on a prolonged business trip, Nate has to figure out how to keep the house from (literally) falling apart,” the synopsis reads. “He and his kids soon learn that while he may not do it like mom, he can figure out how to do it his way. Welcome to the dad era.”
“It’s a throwback to the classic family comedy movies that we all love. I think there is a lack of entertainment made for entire families,” Bargatze told PEOPLE back in December of his big screen debut. “There are so few movies where everyone of all ages can have a good laugh. So I decided to create one myself.”
“This is a movie with characters everyone can relate to, and it gives families and friends a great reason to go to a theater for an excellent night out,” he continued. “We have a lot of fun craziness that happens in the movie, but the family feels like a real family.”
THE BREADWINNER hits theaters on May 29. Check your local theaters to see if the Nate Rate applies.
