New PEANUTS Movie Coming to Apple TV+

Apple has ordered a new PEANUTS movie, bringing fans another adventure with Charlie Brown and friends as they embark on an adventure in New York City.
“Fans of all ages have been enamored with PEANUTS on Apple TV+,” said Tara Sorensen, Apple’s head of children’s programming. “We can’t wait for everyone to experience this heartwarming new adventure with Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the gang in the Big City.”
The screenplay was created by Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz and Cornelius Uliano, the team behind the 2015 Movieguide® Award-nominated THE PEANUTS MOVIE. They were joined by Karey Kirkpatrick, who has previously worked on CHICKEN RUN, SMALLFOOT and OVER THE HEDGE. Steve Martino, the director of the previous PEANUTS movie, will direct the movie.
“It is so special to carry on my father’s legacy with an original story from me, my son, and his writing partner Neil,” said Craig Schulz. “Peanuts fans have been clamoring for another feature [film] for years, and this film will bring joy to our millions of fans around the world.”
While this is the first PEANUTS movie since Apple acquired the rights to the franchise in 2018, it is far from the first time Charlie Brown has returned to the platform. Apple has released multiple projects centered around Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang through SNOOPY IN SPACE, THE SNOOPY SHOW and the SNOOPY PRESENTS series.
Apple has also produced an Emmy award-winning documentary about Peanuts creator Charles Schulz called WHO ARE YOU, CHARLIE BROWN?
The streaming service also allows free viewing periods for classic Charlie Brown specials during their holiday season, including A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING, which is available for free on Nov. 18 and 19, and A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS, which can be streamed for free on Dec. 16 and 17.

Craig Schulz, son of “Peanuts” creator Charles Schulz, is hopeful that the iconic comic strip will return to the big screen soon.
“Nothing is off the table,” Schulz told Screen Rant. “We’re always exploring different ideas and different things in this co-view series that we’ve done, which touched upon the environment, the love for teachers, Mother’s Day, and how it interacts with enough people.”
“All those subjects are just really fun, and as you know, the Peanuts universe is sort of endless. There are so many great characters to work with, there’s so many great themes to work with that we explore everything, and I don’t know that a movie is off the table,” he continued.
“I would like to see one come back, but keep your fingers crossed, we will see,” he added.
