Amazon Prime Video will add NBA games to its Black Friday lineup, which also features an NFL game, as well as another Christmas matchup.

“We are looking to really establish Black Friday as a new franchise that’s incredibly valuable for the leagues and for fans,” Jay Marine, global head of sports for Amazon Prime Video, told Variety. “The NBA is going to roll out right after our Black Friday football game. Black Friday will really become a sports event that’s on Amazon all throughout the day.”

“Sports is really the last thing left that can deliver a large-scale audience all at once, which is incredibly valuable,” he added.

With this move, Amazon hopes to produce higher numbers in the fourth quarter. This is a direct attempt to boost viewers as well as gain online shoppers.

It’s already seen massive success with its Black Friday NFL game.

In a press release from Amazon, Marine added, “Black Friday Football has quickly emerged as a new tradition on the national sports calendar, and we are ecstatic to feature the Super Bowl champions in this tentpole event for the second year in a row. The viewership of last year’s Black Friday game grew more than 40 percent year-over-year, and we’re equally excited to present a Christmas thriller between the Chiefs and Broncos in prime time, featuring some of the biggest names in the sport.”

“The holiday shopping season stands as one of the most critical stretches of the year for advertisers and retailers looking to attract the massive audiences that congregate around major events,” he added. “Prime Video has an unparalleled sports lineup during this important period.”

The Black Friday game will feature reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, versus Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears.

In addition to the Black Friday game, Prime Video will also host the Denver Broncos-Kansas City Chiefs’ Christmas Day game.

When you add the NBA into the mix, Prime Video believes it can become the largest sports network for the fourth quarter.

“I would say that THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL helped establish us,” Marine told Variety. “One thing they wanted is more.”

“This is going to be the greatest Friday in sports,” THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL host Charissa Thompson said at the upfront presentation.

That’s what Amazon Prime Video is hoping for: the greatest Friday in sports. Tune in on Black Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, to see an action-packed day of NFL and NBA games.
