Sadie Sink is joining the MCU and teaming up with Tom Holland in the upcoming SPIDER-MAN 4, per The Hollywood Reporter.

The character Sink will portray has been shrouded in mystery, as Sony and Marvel have yet to confirm her role, spawning several theories. Fans speculate that, given her red hair, she might play “Mary Jane,” which isn’t likely as Zendaya has played “MJ” for the past three films, although her abbreviation stands for Michelle Jones-Watson. Whether a different “MJ” character will be introduced is uncertain.

Sink has taken on many roles but shot to fame as Max in the popular Netflix series, STRANGER THINGS. The 22-year-old Texas native began her career in theater, starting her first role at the young age of 9.

Her IMDB biography says, “She performed in musical productions of White Christmas in 2011, and the title role of Annie in a regional production. She then auditioned for Broadway and played the title role as well as Duffy in the 2012 revival of Annie. While starring in the play, she appeared in the Emmy-winning series The Americans (2013).”

Joining the SPIDER-MAN franchise is an exciting move for the young actress, and Holland believes the new Spider-man film will be set apart from previous films.

“The idea is crazy. It’s a little different to anything we’ve done before, but I think the fans are gonna really respond to it,” Holland previously told Good Morning America.

The most recent Spider-man film was SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME in 2021. The movie was a success, making over $1.9 billion globally.

SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME is a wild ride. As the movie opens, Peter and his friends, MJ and Ned, are suffering the consequences of Mysterio’s lies from the last SPIDER-MAN movie. Because of the controversy Mysterio created, none of them are accepted into any colleges, including their first choice, MIT. Always thinking about his friends, Peter asks Dr. Strange for a spell to make everyone forget Peter Parker is Spider-Man. However, the spell goes wrong and starts bringing supervillains from other universes into Peter’s world.

The movie has both positive and negative aspects, and discretion is advised for older teenagers and sensitive adults. Movieguide stated, “NO WAY HOME has a strong moral, redemptive premise that everyone deserves a second chance, even supervillains. In the movie, Aunt May inspires Peter to do the right thing and give the supervillains a second chance to set things right. SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME has many light obscenities and profanities, intense action violence and occult content.”
