Saints LB Demario Davis ‘Grateful to God’ For Successful Marriage
By Movieguide® Contributor
New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis prioritizes his family over football and just celebrated 12 years of marriage with his wife, Tamela.
“Wow, twelve years have flown by, each moment filled with the greatest joy of navigating life with you,” Davis wrote on Instagram. “Together, we’ve journeyed the peaks of euphoria and weathered the valleys of despair, growing stronger and more prepared for the future.
“I am so grateful that God, in His wisdom, crafted you with His own hands just for me,” he continued. “My purpose is to spend the rest of my days protecting, honoring, and cherishing the incredible gift that you are. You are my perfect match, the only one that nourishes my soul, my eternal companion.
“It has always been you and will forever be you,” Davis concluded. “You are my life partner, the mother of our children, my best friend, my lover, and the love of my life.”
Davis’ priorities are faith, family and football — in that order — and he’s been reflecting on fatherhood recently, sharing family photos and thoughts.
“Family is a busy kitchen, each person adding their own special ingredients to the recipe of life,” he wrote along with a photo of his family in the kitchen.
Another post reads, “Parenting is like a good cup of coffee, it warms your heart and keeps you going.”
“Daughters make sure you never worry about falling behind on the latest fashion trends,” he quipped in another post along with a photo of him with his daughter.
He also reflected on what it’s like to raise a son: “I’ve heard it said that raising boys is the lifelong challenge of turning tornadoes into productive members of society.”
Movieguide® recently reported on a worship night that Davis and his teammate, Derek Carr, held in New Orleans:
Davis emphasized that the worship event was for anyone, whether they had a strong faith or had never heard the Gospel before.
“Some of us came in, our faith was full and all we wanted to do was give all of our praise to the Lord,” he said. “Some of us came in and our faith was strong, but we needed something to pick us up because we were going through hard times. Some of us came in with an understanding of who Jesus is or had heard about Him, but don’t know Him for ourselves, but we’ve gotten a chance to know Him tonight.
“And some of us are in that place that all of us will experience through life, to where our faith has been shaken,” he added.
“And we believe that God can answer, but we just don’t see how it’s possible. But we just sang about the King of Kings, and you’re here in this moment because there is a way. The Bible says, ‘We walk by faith, and not by sight,’ so you don’t have to see the way out, but He’ll answer.”
