Shedeur Sanders, son of football legend Deion Sanders, has had an unconventional first season in the NFL. Sanders currently sits as the Cleveland Browns’ third-string quarterback, a spot he did not think he would be in.

However, Sanders has learned one valuable lesson.

“The greatest lesson I’ve learned through it all is not to worry but to lean on and trust GOD in every situation,” Sanders shared in a post on X. “Even when I don’t know what to do, I’ve learned that GOD will always guide me.

“I live stress-free because I know that, no matter what, GOD has the final say over my life,” the quarterback continued. “I’m able to persevere through trials because I come from a family built on morals, values, and unshakable principles.

“Growing up, I had access to a lot, and maybe without my understanding shaped my worldview, but I’ve realized that peace, purpose, and faith can’t be bought,” he added. “They have to be built. True success is who you become while waiting on GOD’s timing. GOD’s pace protects what your purpose will one day require.”

Sanders didn’t receive much playing time in the pre-season games leading up to the regular season. Regardless, he kept his head up and knows that he’s in this for the long haul.

“Thanks everyone for the 🧡 and support. There’s a lot to learn from this preseason, but I’m really thankful for the opportunity to be out there. Day by day, rep by rep, I’ll keep learning and getting better,” he wrote on social media.

Despite his lack of play on the field, Sanders is committed off the field. He has recently partnered with the Drive Point Auto Group to give away a car.

“I was BLESSED to be a BLESSING! We’re blessing somebody that’s deserving with a CAR in Cleveland and nearby cities! I’m looking for difference makers in the community, so help me find that person that’s always looking out for others but deserves to be blessed as well,” Sanders wrote in a post on Instagram.

Ultimately, Sanders will eventually be an option for the Browns. That’s if he sticks it out long enough. If Sanders decides to be traded or become a free agent, he may have to start over from square one. Regardless, he has learned to lean on God and trust His plan.
