Alexa PenaVega recently took a moment to address a longing that she feels in her heart.

“Okay, I just had this revelation after a workout, a really good workout,” the SPY KIDS actress began a video which she filmed from inside her car. “You know, I’ve been chatting with [husband] Carlos a lot, just about like feeling unsettled, feeling like motivated to do more and other stuff, but just really feeling unsettled with where we are at, like physically, in our home, in this place. Like, we’re just trying to make sense of it all.”

“Carlos is describing everything that brings him peace and joy, and all the things that bring me peace and joy, and what we think would bring our kids peace and joy, like really taking that in and writing it down and figuring out, like, ‘God, like, what do you want for us? What is that?’”

An Instagram video clarified exactly what she was feeling.

“This guy is describing how he died and experienced Heaven, and everything he was describing about Heaven was essentially what we have been craving here on Earth,” PenaVega explained.

She said that if we are feeling unsettled, we are “quite literally craving Heaven, going ‘God, how do we make Heaven here on earth?’”

The actress concluded her video by saying, “And anyway, that was my revelation. That’s just what we’re craving.”

Her fans could relate.

“YES! This is such a beautiful revelation, and this is our temporary home because Heaven is the home where our heart belongs and with our loving God!!!🙌🏻” one person commented.

Another said, “He’s turning our hearts toward home. Keep looking up! He’s coming back.”

The longing for heaven that PenaVega describes isn’t surprising. In fact, the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:1-2, “For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling…”

PenaVega frequently talks about her faith and reminds her followers to focus on eternity. Recently, she spoke about tragedies families around her have faced and reflected on the stillbirth of her daughter Indy.

In the video, she read James 1:2-4, which says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

“…it is awful,” she said of tragic circumstances she and others have faced. “And it’s not easy, and of course, it makes us think a lot. Brings us back to the kingdom, right?”

PenaVega’s messages remind us of God’s goodness and that what we crave more than anything is Him.
