After one of the most exciting games of the season on Sunday night, players from the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers united on the field in prayer.

The Ravens and Steelers went back and forth the entire night. But it was a “26-yard Aaron Rodgers TD pass to wide receiver Calvin Austin III put the Steelers in front once again. However, Chris Boswell went on to miss his second missed extra point in the last four years to keep it a 2-point game,” per Fox Sports.

This meant that all that Baltimore needed to do was get into field goal territory.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson marched his offense down the field as he found “tight end Isaiah Likely on a 26-yard completion on 4th-and-7 with 21 seconds to play.”

This set up the Ravens kicker, Tyler Loop, for a 44-yard field goal.

Unfortunately, Loop missed the field goal, and the Ravens missed their chance at the playoffs — the first time since 2021.  Despite the dramatic finish to the game, players from both teams still took time to join together at the 50-yard line for a moment of prayer.

“Even with the dramatic ending to the Ravens-Steelers game, players still came together in prayer. Win or lose, Jesus gets the glory,” Christhlete shared on Instagram alongside a video of the moment.

After the game, Loop spoke to the media and explained that even in the tough loss after a play that depended on him, he won’t let one moment define his entire career.

“Faith is a big part of my life,” the kicker told the media in a post-game press conference. “And right now, I’m reading the book of Romans, and in Romans 8, it says, ‘And God works for the good of those who love Him, for those He called according to His purpose.’ And, you know, it’s a verse that just reminds me, like, ultimately, man, I’m here to love on the guys around me, and I’m here to try and have their back and be a good teammate and be a good representative of the organization and steward the gifts I’ve been given.”

“Because it’s such a fortunate thing to be here, you know, even going back, like, just being placed in Baltimore with this team has been the biggest blessing of my life,” he added. “And you know, I’m super grateful for it. It’s been incredible. So just reminding myself that, ‘Hey, God’s got my back, even when stuff sucks.'”

Regardless of the outcome, football fans love seeing players who believe in Christ and play for Him take the time praise Him from the field.
