Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud shared the heart behind his foundation, the C.J. Stroud Foundation.
“The biggest message is always, you know, how Christ loves us. We want to give the same type of love away. So that’s our foundation,” Stroud said on the red carpet of the Annual Global Humanitarian Awards, per Christhlete.
“You know, like my mother said, there’s a lot of people feeling hurt in life, and for a while, we were those people,” he said. “And God has came, and He’s tremendously worked on our character, worked on us as people to be able to have these type of influences and these types of resources to be able to handle them and steward them the right way, because truly, they’re not ours, and so we’re just trying to steward the resources, steward the platform, the right way.”

“And you know, we’re still learning as time goes on, but that’s really our foundation; that’s our core,” he added. “That’s what we’re here for — to help others. Because at the end of the day, you know, this life is fleeting. You have ups and downs in life, but I think when your foundation is set on God, what can really rock you? So yeah, that’s kind of what we stand for.”
The C.J. Stroud Foundation has one clear mission: “to inspire, uplift, and support communities in their times of need, ensuring they feel valued, appreciated, and cherished. We’re here to make a meaningful difference in the world, fostering a sense of belonging and hope, especially among our youth. The CJ Stroud Foundation is not just a charity; it’s a beacon of love and support, lighting the way for those who may have lost their sense of direction,” the website reads.
Stroud’s foundation helps the community through different events such as “Throwing Touchdowns Against Hunger,” “Extreme Clean-up Event,” toy drives, the annual “Back to School Giveaway” and the “Hurricane Relief Gift Card” event.
While at the annual back-to-school giveaway event, Stroud shared that he hopes participants can see “themselves do great things that, you know, our kids are our future presidents, our future lawyers, cops, city officials, DAs, all the things that run cities and run our country. These are the kids that we’re impacting today. So, I hope even if they don’t think it’s football, they can do something special in their lives.”
What an incredible reminder to use our talents and resources to love others and glorify God.
