More Detail:
A BLUEGRASS CHRISTMAS is a delightful Christmas romance on UPtv. The story follows Kate, an equine vet at her family’s horse sanctuary. Kate works hard to raise enough money to keep the sanctuary running after their largest donor pulls out. A new friend, Grant, gives her the idea to put on a benefit concert. However, Kate and her former-bluegrass artist grandfather, Ben, clash over whether or not he should return to music.
The movie begins with Kate clashing with her family horse sanctuary’s largest donor. As a result, the family must scramble to raise enough money to keep their doors open. The donor’s son, Grant, comes by to apologize to Kate for his dad’s behavior. When he finds out Kate’s grandfather was once a famous bluegrass artist, he tells her they should put on a benefit concert, with her grandfather as the star attraction. Kate reveals that Ben stopped playing music after his wife’s death. Grant says they should go ahead with the concert anyway, with Kate as the star. They speak to Ben’s old band about joining them for the concert, and they agree.
Preparations for the show take off in earnest, with everyone working together to practice the songs, advertise the show, and decorate the venue. However, after Ben finds out she’s singing with his band, he gets angry and the two fight. He offers her the number of a country star, Claire Crosby, who owes him a favor, and tells Kate they’ll raise more money if she headlines the concert.
Kate calls Claire, who agrees to the show. While she’s excited at the idea of raising enough money to save the family business, Kate is scared to let the band know they no longer need to perform. They’re upset that she let Ben win this argument, and Kate and her grandfather fight again over his refusal to play music anymore.
The situation gets worse when Claire emails to say she is no longer able to do the concert, Kate panics and picks a fight with Grant, accusing him of only helping her because he feels guilty about what his dad father did.
Will Kate be able to fix this mess?
