What You Need To Know:
EXPEND4BLES is the most exciting and entertaining of the four EXPENDABLES movies. It has a strong moral, patriotic worldview where a group of rough and tumble American soldiers save the world from World War III. However, EXPEND4BLES has many “f” words, some gory deaths, a high body count, a comical image of extreme male nudity, and other objectionable issues.

In EXPEND4BLES, the CIA orders the team of veteran commandos led by Sylvester Stallone’s Barney character to stop a mysterious bad guy and his right-hand man from getting their hands on some Libyan detonators for atomic bombs and causing World War III between Russia and the United States. EXPEND4BLES is probably the most exciting, entertaining of the four EXPENDABLES movies, and features American soldiers saving the world from World War III, but it has many “f” words, some gory deaths, a high body count, and some other objectionable issues.
The movie opens with the mysterious villain’s henchman, Rahmat, attacking a former chemical plant in Libya, where a general and his troops are guarding some weapons of mass destruction. The General is taking a lunch break with his wife and son when Rahmat’s team attacks the facility. Rahmat kills the General’s wife and threatens to kill his son to force the General to reveal where they’ve hidden some nuclear detonators for atomic bombs. The General relents, but Rahmat kills the son anyway.
Meanwhile, in New Orleans where the Expendables hang out, Barney visits his right-hand man, Christmas, played by Jason Statham, who’s spent the night with the female member of the Expendables, Gina, played by Megan Fox. Barney asks Christmas to help him retrieve his
Expendables ring, which he lost in a bet at a bar. They visit the bar, where a funny scene ends with them fighting the short guy who won the ring, but the short guy has some big friends.
Back at the Expendables headquarters, Barney’s team gets the job to stop Rahmat from getting the detonators. A new guy named Marsh, played by Andy Garcia, gives them the mission. Marsh tells them Rahmat is working for a mysterious international arms dealer known as Ocelot, a bad actor whom Barney has been trying to stop for years.
Cut to Libya with the Expendables arriving in their large transport plane, piloted by Barney. The plane lets out the Expendables team in their armored vehicles to engage Rahmat and his men. They’ve arrived just in time to find Rahmat loading the nuclear detonators onto one of his vehicles. A big fight ensues, but things go wrong, and Christmas makes a decision that lets Rahmat get away with the detonators.
Back in the States, Marsh removes Christmas from the team and replaces him with Gina. However, Christmas secretly follows the team on the next mission, to stop Rahmat from using the detonators, now attached to a nuclear bomb that Rahmat’s boss hopes can start a war between Russia and the United States.
EXPEND4BLES is probably the most exciting and entertaining of the four EXPENDABLES movies. It also has a strong moral, patriotic worldview where a group of rough and tumble American soldiers save the world from World War III.
However, the movie has many “f” words, and the frequent action violence includes some gory deaths and a high body count. Also, there’s a quick joke involving some extreme male nudity and an implied bedroom scene. So, EXPEND4BLES has too much excessive, unacceptable content in all the excitement. That said, it’s nice to see an action movie that just wants to entertain moviegoers and avoids woke, politically correct cliches from radical filmmakers working in Hollywood.
