ACT OF VALOR

"Realistic, Explosive, and Patriotic"

Watch:

What You Need To Know:

ACT OF VALOR is a riveting, explosive war movie. Real Navy Seals play the key roles. Two Seal Team 7 leaders send their team to Latin America. The mission is to rescue a female CIA agent captured by a drug lord, in cahoots with a Muslim terrorist. The agent has information confirming the link. An intense firefight occurs at the drug lord’s secret jungle compound. The team barely gets away, though one soldiers loses an eye. The drug lord is connected to a Russian arms dealer. The dealer is childhood friends with the terrorist planning the attack on America. Can the Seals get to the terrorist and his gang before they enter the U.S.?

ACT OF VALOR sizzles with action. The action scenes are among the best, most realistic ones ever filmed. The movie isn’t all about the action, however. It’s also a heartfelt, patriotic parable about the emotional toll defending one’s country can take on soldiers and their families. That said, the war violence is very strong, with bloody scenes and pointblank shootings. There’s also plenty of strong foul language. ACT OF VALOR is designed for mature adults.

Content:

(BBB, PPP, PC, Ab, LLL, VVV, N, DD, M) Very strong moral, patriotic, and anti-terrorist worldview with a plea for religious tolerance and against religious proselytizing that’s a little vague and perhaps politically correct but seems aimed mostly at Islamic extremists who follow the Koran and take it really seriously; 29 obscenities (about 10 or 11 “f” words) and two strong profanities; very strong war violence with blood includes pointblank shootings, head shots, explosions, shots of dead man with blood pooling under him, many gunfights, lots of automatic and machine gun fire, implied torture of female CIA agent with screams, female agent had very puffy cheeks and a closed eye from implied brutal beating, suicide vest explodes, rocket propelled grenades, RPG turns out to be a dud when it hits soldier, wounded man loses an eye; no sex; brief upper male nudity and women in bikinis on luxury boat; no obvious alcohol; brief smoking and references to drug dealers, who are working with a terrorist leader; and, smuggling, illegal arms dealing mentioned, and sad funeral.

More Detail:

ACT OF VALOR is a riveting, explosive war movie with very strong patriotic values, but it has very strong war violence and some strong foul language, so extreme caution is advised.

Real, active duty Navy Seals perform the key roles in this movie about the American military helping Homeland Security stop a terrorist from invading the USA. The story begins with two Seal Team 7 leaders discussing their married lives. They get the word to send their team to Latin America to rescue a female CIA agent captured by a drug lord who’s in cahoots with a Muslim terrorist. The agent has specific information confirming the link.

An intense firefight occurs at the drug lord’s secret jungle compound. The Seal team gets support from two boats flown in by military helicopters. The team barely gets away, though one of the soldiers loses an eye.

The Seals discover that the Latin American drug lord is connected to a Russian arms dealer, who is childhood friends with the Muslim terrorist planning the attack on America. Their commander leads a team to capture the arms dealer. After being captured, he reveals that his terrorist friend is planning to sneak across the Mexican border with the U.S. and unleash a terrible series of suicide bombings. The arms dealer has supplied his friend with undetectable explosive ball bearings sewn into easy-to-hide vests.

Can the Seals get to the terrorist and his gang before they enter the U.S. and disappear completely with their deadly explosives?

ACT OF VALOR sizzles with amazing action. The action scenes are among the best ever filmed. ACT OF VALOR isn’t all about the action, however. It’s also a heartfelt, patriotic parable about the emotional toll defending one’s country can take on the soldiers and their families. There’s some stilted dialogue, but otherwise, the movie plays surprisingly well, especially considering amateur actors are mixed in with professional actors.

That said, the war violence is very strong with some bloody scenes and pointblank shootings. There’s implied torture of the female agent, but nothing extremely gory. Also, there’s plenty of strong foul language. Finally, although ACT OF VALOR is moral and patriotic, it should have more overt Christian content. The faith of the soldiers is only vaguely, obliquely mentioned. Also, there’s a line about religious tolerance that also obliquely seems to attack all religious proselytizing.

All in all, ACT OF VALOR is designed for adults. Extreme caution is warranted.
