(H, LLL, SSS, NN, A, M, Ho) Humanist worldview & the absence of truth; 13 obscenities, 8 profanities & more than 18 vulgarities; graphic sexual immorality -- seduction & oral sex depicted; partial female nudity; social alcohol use; woman seeks revenge against former lover & falsely accuses him of sexual harassment; and, implied homosexuality in dream sequence.

More Detail:

Based on the Michael Crichton novel, DISCLOSURE stars Michael Douglas and Demi Moore in the story of a man who is sexually assaulted by his female boss, who then turns the tables and falsely accuses him of sexual harassment. Promising intrigue and delivering lots of immoral content, the premise of this well-made movie is made clear by one character’s statement: “… we have information, but no truth.” After creating a revolutionary new computer device for his company, Tom Sanders is stunned to learn that he is being replaced on the project. Even more surprising is his replacement: a former flame who now has revenge on her agenda.

DISCLOSURE features talented direction and good acting. However, this is over-shadowed by the immoral blackness of this film. Frequent use of obscenities and graphic depictions of sexual activity strongly push the envelope of decency, possibly the filmmakers’ intention. Only minor changes in camera angles would have qualified this movie for the NC-17 rating. Thankfully, the movie does actually have a plot. However, an appropriate disclaimer might read: “WARNING — Due to excellent plot and credible camera work, this movie may entice moral viewers into subjecting themselves to morally perverse and corrupting decadence.”
