What You Need To Know:

FLICKA 2 is the story of city girl Carrie, who is forced to live with her estranged father on a horse ranch. Carrie befriends and learns to ride Flicka, a wild Mustang. Carrie disobeys her father, so he disciplines her by sending Flicka away to a nearby ranch. Carrie slips out at night to visit Flicka. This encourages Flicka to escape from her corral and get lost in the woods. Flicka also breaks a rival rancher’s fence. This starts a chain of events where the rival rancher sends Flicka to the slaughterhouse. Carrie bonds with her father over this, and they set out to rescue Flicka.

FLICKA 2 is a wonderful movie with much heart. While the story is certainly familiar, Director Michael Damian brings plenty of life to it. Patrick Warburton shines in a dramatic role, a departure from his usual comic parts. Some very young children may be disturbed by some of the skateboarding or horse stampede scenes, but FLICKA 2 is a movie the entire family can enjoy together. The importance of family and relationships are the important, wholesome themes that run throughout this entertaining girl-and-her-horse movie.

More Detail:

FLICKA 2 is the story of city girl Carrie, who is forced to live with her estranged father on a horse ranch in Wyoming. With no Internet and a faulty cell phone, Carrie feels stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Carrie befriends a wild jet black Mustang named Flicka who is equally as wild as Carrie. She learns to ride Flicka and slowly starts to adjust to life on the ranch. However, Carrie is still distant from her father and longs to go back to the city.

Carrie meets a teenage boy who is a ranch hand. He helps Carrie see the ranch world for what it is and the beauty that is there. Even so, Carrie continues to disobey her father, so, to discipline her, he sends Flicka away to another ranch for a time.

Carrie slips out at night to visit Flicka. Without realizing it, this encourages Flicka to escape from her corral and get lost in the woods. Flicka breaks a rival rancher’s fence. This starts a series of events that leads up to Flicka being taken away by the rival rancher and sent to the slaughterhouse.

Carrie is emotionally broken. For the first time, she and her father bond and finally discuss their past. With conviction, Carrie and her father set out to rescue Flicka.
