What You Need To Know:
Viewers must have lots of patience to endure the telling of this story. The story often moves so slowly and in such a cryptic manner that it’s sometimes hard to know what’s happening. Also, the ending is rather strange and somewhat pretentious, although the movie does generate sympathy for the father and his daughter. However, HIGH LIFE contains lots of foul language and explicit sex and nudity, and some very strong violence. Ultimately, HIGH LIFE contains too much gratuitous, abhorrent content to be worthwhile.

More Detail:
HIGH LIFE is a bizarre, slow moving science fiction story about an Earth spaceship with a crew of convicts traveling to a distant black hole to explore, in exchange for their “freedom.” Even the ship’s doctor is a convict, but she’s one disturbed woman. Eventually, the story reveals she’s drugged one convict and stolen his sperm to impregnate another female convict. Now, the father’s all alone with his baby daughter traveling to a black hole. Through his memories, viewers learn why everyone else has died. Will the father and his daughter ever get to the black hole safely?

The touching scenes between the father and his baby daughter don’t make up for the movie’s boring, bizarre and offensive parts.
