THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER is a heartwarming comedy about the 75^th Annual Christmas Pageant in the town of Emmanual. The Christmas Pageant is a very big deal in Emmanuel. When the woman who directed the pageant for years falls and can’t direct this year, Grace graciously volunteers to direct it. However, the meanest children in town, the Herdmans, are the only ones who volunteer for the major roles. Comical mayhem results, especially since this is the first time the Herdmans have heard of the Christmas story.

In THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER, when Grace volunteers to direct the 75^th Anniversary of the small town’s Christmas pageant, the worst thing imaginable happens. The meanest, cruelist kids in town are the only ones to volunteer to play Mary, Joseph, the Wise Men, the Angel, and other important roles. Although the movie is slightly slow in the beginning, it has fun and funny moments. Even better, the ending is heart-rending, powerful and uplifting, so bring your tissues or handkerchief. In the town of Emmanual, the Christmas Pageant is a very big deal. In fact, this is the 75^th year of the pageant. People come from all over to see the Pageant, but when the woman who had directed the pageant for years falls and can’t direct this year, Grace graciously volunteers to direct it.

Grace has a little girl named Beth and a son named Charlie. Beth loves being in the Christmas pageant and singing, but she’s worried for her mother because the pageant is a very big deal in the town.

Charlie tries to tell the town bully that he’s so happy for Sundays because the bully is not at Church, where they give out food and treats. The bully is a part of a family of bullies named the Herdmans. The Herdmans are totally rotten, rude, mean, cruel to others, and completely BAD. However, when they hear there’s food at church, they decide to attend.

The same Sunday they attend Church is the Sunday that Grace starts organizing the Pageant. The oldest Herdman, and toughest, named Imogene decides their family should do the Pageant for the free food and treats. Imogen also decides that she will be Mary and her brothers and sisters will be everyone else of any importance in the Pageant. When no one else volunteers against the family during casting, Imogen gets the role of Mary and her siblings get the other important roles.

The entire town’s upset about the fact that the Herdmans are the leads in the pageant, because they are the meanest children in town. Grace counters that the Herdmans were the ones who wanted it, and no one else volunteered.

Imogen studies a picture of Mary, who is so beautiful and peaceful. Imogen wonders if she can play that, but Beth decides to help them. So, the Herdman family goes to the Library for their first time, and they read the Bible, Children’s Bibles and any other reading materials that will help them with their roles.

The time has come, and it’s almost the day of the Pageant. Meanwhile, Grace is concerned that they never had a full run through of the pageant. Also, the townspeople are all betting against the Herdmans, because they don’t like them.
