More Detail:

THE GOOD COP’s second episode (“What is the Supermodel’s Secret?”) once again pits TJ’s sense of straight-laced honestly against his father’s moral apathy. When Tony meets a supermodel (Emma Ishta) half his age, who seems interested in him, he falls head over heels and ignores some obvious warning signs. TJ discovers evidence linking the woman to a murder he’s investigating. He must try to rescue his father before Tony’s in real danger, but does Tony want to be rescued?

“What is the Supermodel’s Secret” is a step in the right direction for THE GOOD COP. The show seems to have embraced its comic nature, and this episode has some really funny scenes. Groban continues to struggle as TJ, not seeming to find the humor in the character’s inherent honesty. Danza is slightly better as Tony. In a questionable portrayal, the show paints Tony’s moral apathy as negative, yet continues to make him the funny, popular character. Moderate caution is warranted as this episode involves several onscreen murders, and its plot revolves around: 1) Being blackout drunk; and, 2) attempting to sleep with a supermodel.
