More Detail:

In “Searching for a Saint Bernard,” episode three of Bear Grylls’ show YOU VS. WILD, the audience travels with Grylls to the Swiss Alps on a daring rescue mission. A rescue Saint Bernard has gotten lost after searching for missing hikers. Grylls must navigate several dangerous situations (with the viewer’s help) to find the lost dog. Audiences help Grylls to carefully crawl across a frozen lake, build suitable cold-weather shelter and travel down a sheer frozen cliff.

“Searching for a Saint Bernard” contains incredibly beautiful shots of the Swiss Alps. That alone makes the episode enjoyable. The show continues to walk an odd line between reality and fiction. This episode especially highlights the jarring logic occasionally present. One example is when Grylls asks viewers to choose how to cross a frozen lake. If they pick wrong, the ice collapses under him, and he nearly drowns. Then he tells viewers why that was the wrong answer. However, if he knew it was the wrong answer all along, why did he do it? There is no questionable content. “Searching for a Saint Bernard” is appropriate for all viewers.
