DUCK DYNASTY’s Al and Lisa Robertson are excited about DUCK DYNASTY: THE REVIVAL and also shared an update about Phil Robertson’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

“Now that the reboot, or the revival I think they’re calling it, has happened, now it’s all about, you know, those teenagers that you loved on the show who are now married and have kids, and you know, how they’ve sort of now taken over the business and the different aspects that are there,” Al told CBN News in an interview. The original DUCK DYNASTY show ended seven years ago after 11 seasons.

He continued, “So it’s going to be a lot of fun. I think people are going to love it. I can’t wait to watch it.”

A&E announced DUCK DYNASTY: THE REVIVAL last month.

“Going back on A&E feels a little like going back home,” Willie and Korie Robertson said in a statement. “We’re thankful for all who have followed along as our family has grown and expanded and can’t wait to get cameras rolling again on all our new adventures, or perhaps misadventures.”

The fame the Robertsons found through DUCK DYNASTY impacted more than just their family. Al explained that their local church has been affected, too.

“Our guys have embraced it and seen it as an opportunity just to get the gospel to more people,” he said of the church staff. “I couldn’t be more proud of our church.”

Al and Lisa opened up about family patriarch Phil Robertson’s battle with Alzheimer’s.

“It’s hard to watch,” Lisa said. “It’s really weird to…be in the presence of somebody last year that could just recite Scripture and…now [he’s] someone who’s very quiet.”

Although Phil is losing his memory, the family knows that his stories and legacy will live on through his family.

“His legacy will live on, and on, and on in his children, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren,” Lisa said. “That’s what he trained us to do. So, that’s what we will continue to do.”
