DUSTING CLIFF 7

"Cable-style Action Adventure"

What You Need To Know:

IN BRIEF:

Elements of LA FEMME NIKITA are combined with standard renegade CIA officer storyline to form the half-baked plot for DUSTING CLIFF 7. This well-shot, but poorly scripted movie tells the story of Miss Bishop who is groomed as an assassin for the CIA by megalomaniac Roger. In the first scene, she is supposed to kill the man with whom she just slept in order to get the steal the top secret Icarus computer disk. However, she can’t bring herself to murder him, so renegade agents turn on her, chasing her throughout Los Angeles and holding her daughter hostage. Miss Bishop makes a deal to exchange the computer disk for her daughter at called DUSTING CLIFF 7. Her superior sends his mercenaries to kill her, but she escapes each battle. Eventually there is a showdown over nuclear warheads, and our heroine triumphs.

The camera work on this movie is very good, but the script is full of holes and seems to be patched together from a variety of movie references. The acting is serviceable but the continuity is non-existent. If the moviemaker had concentrated more on his script, he could have produced an interesting action adventure movie. American Indian mysticism highlighted, but is totally unnecessary to the plot. DUSTING CLIFF 7 may go straight to cable

More Detail:

Elements of LA FEMME NIKITA are combined with standard renegade CIA officer storyline to form the half-baked plot for DUSTING CLIFF 7. This well-shot, but poorly scripted movie tells the story of Miss Bishop, who has been groomed as an assassin for the CIA by megalomaniac Roger.

In the first scene, Miss Bishop is supposed to kill her one time lover, in order to get the top secret Icarus computer disk. However, she can’t bring herself to murder him, so Roger’s renegade CIA agents turn on her, chasing her throughout Los Angeles and holding her daughter hostage.

Miss Bishop makes a deal to exchange the computer disk for her daughter at a place called DUSTING CLIFF 7, out in the middle of the desert. After commandeering a ride with small time pilot named Mitch, she gets to this lonely weapon storage facility and finds out, from Mitch and two articulate Indians, that the place is no good.

Roger sends his mercenaries to kill her, but she escapes each battle, and in the process, finds out that there are retired weapons, including poison gas, stored in this facility. Eventually, there is a showdown over nuclear warheads, and our heroine triumphs.

The camera work on this movie is very good; however, the script is full of holes and seems to be patched together from a variety of movie references. The acting is serviceable, but the continuity is non-existent. (Thus, there are the usual gaffes, including the heroine dropping her gun before she gets in the plane and then having her gun in the next shot.) Furthermore, American Indian mysticism is acknowledged throughout the movie, although it is unnecessary to the plot.

If the moviemaker had concentrated more on his script, he could have produced an interesting action adventure. DUSTING CLIFF 7 may go straight to cable.
