JACKASS PRESENTS: BAD GRANDPA

What You Need To Know:

JACKASS PRESENTS: BAD GRANDPA has to be one of the most depraved movies ever released by a major studio. It features a grandfather corrupting his grandson with alcohol, vulgarity, promiscuity, theft, and dishonesty. The actors perform disgusting scenes in front of unsuspecting non-actors. Getting the real people to express shock and revulsion is part of the movie’s depraved sense of humor. The filmmakers try to piece together a “story” about a child whose mother is going to prison for drug offenses. The mother asks her father to take her son to his father. The boy’s father doesn’t want the child until he learns the government will give him $600 a month to “care” for him. The father wants the $600 to feed his drug habit. This setup enables the grandfather to appear better than the father, even though his behavior is literally criminal.

BAD GRANDPA contains full male nudity and sick routines involving a grandfather teaching his grandson to steal, pick up women, get drunk, and cross dress. BAD GRANDPA’s entire purpose seems to present the most shockingly dysfunctional “family” possible as “funny.”

More Detail:

JACKASS PRESENTS: BAD GRANDPA has to be one of the most depraved movies ever released by a major studio. Featuring a grandfather corrupting his young grandson with alcohol, vulgarity, promiscuity, theft, and dishonesty, it makes a very disturbing statement on how low a major American movie studio is willing to go to appeal to fans of depraved humor.

Shot in a style similar to Sasha Baron Cohen’s worst work, the actors perform some disgusting scenes in front of some unsuspecting non-actors. Using hidden cameras to show the real people’s shock and revulsion is part of the movie’s depraved sense of humor. The filmmakers do try to piece together a “story” about a child whose mother is going to prison for drug offenses. The mother asks her father to take her son to his father. The boy’s father doesn’t want the child until he learns the government will give him $600 a month to “care” for him. The father sees it as $600 more for his own drug habit. This setup enables the grandfather to appear better than the child’s parents, even though his behavior is literally criminal.

As the movie opens, Grandpa, played by Johnny Knoxville, rejoices about his wife’s death seeing it as freedom. He takes part in a sick funeral scene and carts his wife’s body off in the trunk of his car to be thrown off a bridge. After “praying” for some men he tricked into moving the body for him, he and his grandson, Billy, hit the road. The rest of the movie contains full male nudity and sick routines involving fake male sex organs and a grandfather teaching his grandson to steal, pick up women, and get drunk. The grandson crossdresses, enters a beauty pageant, and then performs a stripper dance routine to shock the parents of the girls in the pageant.

BAD GRANDPA’s entire purpose seems to present the most shockingly dysfunctional “family” possible as “funny.” This movie would be inexcusable if made and released by some sleazy independent company. It’s beyond astounding to see the movie open with the Paramount Pictures logo. Paramount once released THE TEN COMMANDMENTS.

Sadly, millions of dollars have been spent and are being spent trying to get people to come see this movie. Even worse, there will be people who actually do come. What this says about our “modern” society is that Christians and churches have failed to be salt and light. Thus, we only have ourselves to blame for letting our society get to such a low point as BAD GRANDPA. During the Golden Age of Hollywood, far less than this would have sparked massive public outrage. Please help MOVIEGUIDE® fight against such abhorrent movies as BAD GRANDPA and support morally uplifting movies full of Christian faith such as GRACE UNPLUGGED.
