The episode “Haptics” begins as Ashley and her friends, Brooke and Stick, are working together in the coffee shop. Ashley gets upset when she sees Tad and his girlfriend Bella hanging out, and Brooke decides to come up with a plan to help Ashley get over Tad.

Ashley’s uncle, Victor, is at the coffee shop the same time and sees that Ashley is upset. He asks his friend if he knows why, and he reveals that Ashley has “it bad over a boy.” Uncle Victor comes up with a plan to make Ashley’s favorite food and to set up a karaoke night at home.

Ashley and Brooke are excited about the little party. However, Tad and Bella show up at the party. Brooke insists that Ashley sing karaoke in front of Tad to prove she doesn’t care about him. However, Tad and Bella don’t pay attention at all when Ashley is singing, and she’s disappointed and hides in the kitchen.

While Ashley’s in the kitchen, she talks to her uncle, and he helps her feel better. Also, Stick helps Ashley with her project at work, and the two grow closer. At the café, Ashley tells Brooke she still wants to be friends with Tad, and Brooke tells her that she’s made it to Step 8. Now Ashley must accept that Tad is in a relationship and be happy for him over the decision he’s made. Ashley comes to accept this and is finally at peace.
