What You Need To Know:

THE BIG SHOW SHOW is an enjoyable Netflix family sitcom following retired WWE wrestler The Big Show as an involved father. The series opens with Show’s daughter, Lo-la, from a previous relationship, moving in with his wife and children in Tampa, Florida. The episodes usually deal with family matters, Lola fitting in with her new high school, and her father pondering his next career.

THE BIG SHOW SHOW has a very strong moral worldview with a focus on family and teaching children right from wrong. Some characters may misbehave, but the parents ad-dress and correct the misbehaviors within the episode. Almost all moral and character is-sues are addressed within the 25-minute show. However, there are some questionable ele-ments in THE BIG SHOW SHOW. The characters often take the Lord’s name in vain! One character says he has two moms. Also, one episode features a star from a famous ho-mosexual makeover program on Netflix. The man is effeminate and wants to make over Big Show and his wife, but his homosexuality isn’t openly discussed. For these elements, MOVIEGUIDE® advises strong caution for older children.

More Detail:

THE BIG SHOW SHOW is a pleasantly enjoyable Netflix family sitcom following retired WWE wrestler The Big Show as an involved father.

The series opens with Show’s daughter from a previous relationship, Lola, moving in with his wife and children in Tampa, Florida. Lola is from Minnesota and must deal with the dynamics of adjusting to a new family, as well as a new climate. Lola struggles to find her place at her new high school and in her new family. Her stepsisters must also make accommodations to embrace Lola in their life. The middle sister, Mandy, refuses to give up her room and holds a peaceful protest that attracts people from around the school. Lola amicably agrees to bunk with the youngest sister, JJ, even though JJ is annoying and some-what conniving.

Show wants to help Lola fit in at school, so he goes to the school to convince the hockey coach to let Lola play on the boys’ team. Cassy, Show’s wife and Lola’s stepmother, just wants to make their home a place where Lola feels welcome. Ultimately, the family works together to find a solution that appeases everyone.

THE BIG SHOW SHOW primarily focuses on family and has multiple redeeming qualities. JJ, the youngest sister, is jokingly referred to as an evil genius. Though she often gets into trouble or has some bad behavior, the parents correct the behavior within the episode and try to teach her right from wrong. There’s even one episode where the mother, Cassy, choses to do the right thing after JJ reminds her that you can’t cut corners if you want to be an honest person. Lola cares deeply about her younger siblings, and the family often focus-es spending time with each other. Almost all moral, character issues are addressed within the 25-minute show.

THE BIG SHOW SHOW is very well-made and fun to watch. The physical comedy is well played, with a 7-foot, 400-pound man scooping up his petite family. Show is full of heart and will do anything to spend time with his daughters and include them in his regular life. The acting is less cheesy than many family programs, and the characters appear to have more depth with focus on people other than themselves.

THE BIG SHOW SHOW has a strong biblical, moral worldview with a focus on family and teaching children right from wrong. Some characters may misbehave, but the parents address and correct the misbehaviors within the episode.

That said, there are some minor questionable elements in THE BIG SHOW SHOW. The characters often take the Lord’s name in vain. One character says he has two moms. An-other episode features Tan France from QUEER EYE on Netflix, a makeover show with five homosexual men doing the makeovers. Though France is effeminate and wants to make over Big Show and Cassy, his homosexuality isn’t openly discussed. For these elements, MOVIEGUIDE® advises strong caution for older children.
