STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN: Season One: Episode 8: Redemption

"Self-Sacrifice Saves the Day"

What You Need To Know:

In “Redemption,” Chapter Eight of THE MANDALORIAN on Disney Plus (Disney+), a droid saves the kidnapped Baby Yoda child from the stormtroopers and reunites him with Karga, Cara and the Mandalorian aka Mando. The Mandalorian and his friends are trying to escape the Empire’s ambush led by Moff Gideon. The escape is only successful once the child uses the Force to help fight off Gideon’s troops. The group uses underground tunnels to avoid capture, and Mando leads them to a hidden group of Mandalorian people. Meanwhile, Moff Gideon’s troops try to devise another ambush. Will Mando, Baby Yoda and their friends survive?

Mando’s willing to sacrifice his own life for the safety of the child and his friends. Also, this exciting episode unveils Mando for the first time, both his physical face and the story of his past. It extols compassion, loyalty and especially self-sacrifice and delivers a powerful, pleasing end to the first season. However, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for older children due to lots of action violence and some New Age pagan references to the Force in Chapter Eight of THE MANDALORIAN.

Upon arriving, Mando discovers the entire covert has either fled or been killed except for the Armorer. She tells Mando that, according to the Mandalorian Creed, he must care for the child and try to return it to its own kind. Meanwhile, Moff Gideon’s troops try to devise another ambush.
