Actor Kristoffer Polaha Drops Hints About His Next Project

By Movieguide® Contributor

Actor Kristoffer Polaha wants to reassure fans about his character’s future in Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ MYSTERY 101. The popular leading man recently dropped a few hints on a December 2021 podcast of the fan-produced “Hallmarkies.”

“MYSTERY 101 has performed really, really, really well for the network,” Polaha said. “They get big numbers rating-wise, and they sell overseas internationally. And I think for a few conversations I’ve had with people at the network that there’s still very much a heartbeat in the show, and still very much love to continue telling the story of Travis and Amy and Graham. And so there will be more. I think that the fans can take a deep breath and know that there is more to come.”

Polaha previously presented at the Movieguide® Awards Gala and Report to the Entertainment Industry.

MYSTERY 101, one of Hallmark’s highest-rated movie franchises, left anxious viewers with a cliffhanger in the last installment that aired August 2021 – the uncertain future of the romantic relationship between Polaha’s character Detective Travis Burke and Professor Amy Winslow, portrayed by Movieguide® Grace Prize® nominee Jill Wagner.

Polaha, who is vocal about his Christian faith, is invested in creating quality entertainment like drama WHERE HOPE GROWS for audiences seeking an alternative to the mature-rated content of other streaming platforms.

In the interview on “Hallmarkies,” Polaha further revealed that the next installment of MYSTERY 101 is written and is ready for production. However, something bigger is at stake within the Hallmark movie roster – the future of its fan-favorite mysteries.

“I don’t know the ins and outs of what they’re doing day to day,” he continued. “I know that they are rejiggering their approach to mysteries. … As a viewer I think you can see a lot of redundancies between the different mysteries. It’s like a girl with a quirky job meets up with a cop and then they solve crimes together. … I think the idea is, ‘Why don’t we do mysteries and just make them a little more interesting or a little more diverse… Let’s just kind of mix up the formula.'”
