The release date of DUCK DYNASTY: THE REVIVAL has been slightly pushed back as all episodes will now release on Sundays, meaning the first episode will come out on June 1, rather than May 28 as originally planned.
“With their dynasty expanding into more than just ducks,” a previously released synopsis reads, “Willie and Korie will bring their signature humor and family fun as they grapple with mapping out the future of Duck Commander, watching the kids navigate marriage, children and businesses of their own, and passing down the family legacy.”
Shifting away from patriarch Phil Robertson, who was the star of the first show, the revived series will focus on the new generation that is taking over the family business, while highlighting how the family’s lives have changed since the original series ended in 2017. Along with Willie and Korie, the members of the family who will be recurrently featured include Miss Kay, Uncle Si, John Luke, Sadie Robertson Huff, Will, Bella and Rebecca.
“Secret’s out! 🦆 Our family is going back home to A&E with #DuckDynasty: The Revival!” Huff wrote alongside a video of her family dressed in camo after the new show was announced. “It’s wild to think how much has changed, but also how much has stayed the same. New kids, new spouses, new businesses, new fun…ALL the generations and no end to the adventures (and yes, probably some misadventures too)! 😂”
“Our hope is for you to watch again together as a family and pray our show brings families back around the dinner table giving thanks to God and loving one another,” she continued. “Our prayer as a family is and always has been that we are bright lights for His Glory. We’re SO glad to be back! Stay Tuned!”
The first season will feature 10 hour-long episodes, and the show has already been greenlit for a second season of the same length. New episodes will be released every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT every Sunday starting on June 1.
As the family prepares for the new season, they have also had to face the difficult reality of caring for aging parents as Phil Robertson’s mental acuity has drastically declined in recent months due to Alzheimer’s. The family first announced the heartbreaking news last December and has continued to keep their fans updated on Phil’s health, though in general they have only had bad news to share.
Nonetheless, they remain hopeful as they know that he has a bright future of everlasting peace waiting for him in heaven even as his time on earth comes to a close.
