Marvel’s new animated kids’ series, IRON MAN AND HIS AWESOME FRIENDS, comes out Aug. 11 on Disney Jr. and the following day on Disney+.

The first 10 episodes will be available on Disney Jr. on Demand and Disney+ in the U.S. and some international markets on Aug. 12. It will continue to roll out in international markets through this year and next.

Disney will release 10 shorts ahead of the premiere, titled MEET IRON MAN AND HIS AWESOME FRIENDS. The shorts introduce the show’s stars: Iron Man, Ironheart, Iron Hulk, Iron Pup, Captain America, Iron Spider and Black Panther. The clips will roll out July 14 on Disney Jr., Disney Jr. YouTube and Marvel HQ YouTube. All clips will be available on July 15 on Disney+.

The synopsis reads, “IRON MAN AND HIS AWESOME FRIENDS follows the adventures (and misadventures) of best friends and super geniuses — Tony Stark, Riri Williams and Amadeus Cho — as they work together to solve problems, both big and small, and protect their city. In order to help them save the day, the Iron Friends each have their own Iron Suits that allow them to fly and give them enhanced super-strength.”

Grammy Award nominee and Blink 182 member Mark Hoppus writes and performs the series’ fun theme song, “Totally Awesome.”

Mason Bloomberg stars as Iron Man, Kapri Ladd as Ironheart and Aidyn Ahn as Amadeus Cho. Sean Coyle and Harrison Wilcox executive produce. James Eason-Garcia serves as co-executive producer and story editor.

Marvel fans are hyped for the new show.

“Yay this looks awesome! My kids are going to be so excited 🙌” one person commented on Disney Jr.’s Instagram announcement.

Someone said on Reddit: “Honestly, I’m just glad IM is out there and has become this gateway for kids. I remember when I was a kid back in the 80s, and it felt like treasure finding even a patch with Iron Man on it. These kids don’t know how good they have it. And who is the dog?”

“I’m sure the kids will love this!” another commented. “Smart on Disney’s part to be honest. Taking a super popular character and making a cartoon about them for small kids, not a bad idea.”

The show is part of the “Disney Jr. Let’s Play!” campaign targeting the youngest generation to become life-long marvel fans, encouraging preschoolers to get hooked early. The campaign also includes products like books, toys, apparel and a soundtrack for the show with seven songs, which releases Aug. 15.
