Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver Traeshon Holden praised God for his recent baptism.

“Thank you lord for this day,” he wrote on X alongside a video of his baptism.

The video of his baptism has been viewed over 685,000 times on X, and fans chimed in with encouragement.

“Now begins the real journey, as the enemy has placed a target on your back. Trust and put your faith in HIM and CHRIST will lead you through it all. GOD bless, bro,” one person wrote.

Yessir! To have your name in the Book of Life is a great thing,” another said.

The athlete opened up about his faith in God as he prepared for the NFL Draft earlier this year.

However it goes is exactly how it’s supposed to go. Thank you, lord,” he wrote on X on April 21, 2025.

Holden also shared Jeremiah 29:11: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'”

Before Holden was picked up by the Cowboys, he played for the Oregon Ducks. During his last college year, he caught “45 passes for 718 yards with five touchdowns,” according to Sports Illustrated.

Unfortuanately, the draft didn’t go how he expected.

“The lord don’t make no mistakes,” he said as other wide receivers got picked before him.

The Cowboys later signed him as a free agent.

“I was hurt,” Holden told the Dallas Cowboys after he signed his contract. “That 24-hour rule, I was hurting. But now, I’m here, and I’m ready to make it happen. I’ll do what I can to show everybody that I belong.”

He joins his former college coach, Junior Adams, in Dallas.

“I’m very excited. He told me if he got a chance to come get me, he was coming to get me,” Holden revealed. “He knows he got a dawg, and I’m ready to make it happen.”

Aside from just being a coach, the pair share a deep bond.

“Me and his relationship is more than player-coach,” Holden explained. “I call him if I just need to talk to somebody, and we’ve got a really good relationship. It’s good that we have it in the pros for sure.”

As Holden gets ready to begin his rookie season with the Cowboys, he’s ready to show the NFL why they made a mistake on draft night.

His mindset? “Prove everybody wrong.”

As a new and recently baptized Christian, Holden is ready to make his mark in the NFL.
