THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY star Gavin Casalegno encourages his followers to strengthen their relationship with God.

“You can’t just be a lukewarm Christian,” the actor said in a recent TikTok. “God wants all of you, not just the Sunday version.”

He continued, “All you have to do is repent and be eager for the Lord and hear Him knocking on your heart and say, ‘God, I allow You in. I accept You in. Come, let’s spend time together. Feast with me,’” he said, offering a brief gospel presentation. “And Jesus is saying, ‘I will come and I will feast with you and you with Me.’”

Casalegno also shares his faith in interviews. During a red carpet Q&A, the actor was asked what makes him confident.

“My identity,” he replied. “It’s who God says I am, and I don’t believe what anyone else says about me. I just believe what God says about me.”

Casalegno admitted it’s taken “a lot of growth and a lot of hardship” to get to this place, but “when your faith isn’t in temporary things, it makes life easier. It makes you more confident to be able to express yourself better.”

Something else Casalegno has done to strengthen his relationship with the Lord? Deleting social media.

“I definitely have just learned to be more private, which is super-interesting because I’m always out in public,” he said in an interview with Shondaland. “I had to really learn to navigate my own privacy and well-being.”

Casalegno continued, “So, the quick fix for me is just deleting Instagram and all these apps to kind of check out, to be with my family and be with myself, to spend some time with the Lord — that’s really where I thrive.”

The actor also recently marked his first year of marriage. He and wife Cheyanne Casalegno tied the knot last fall, announcing the marriage in a surprise Instagram post — most fans weren’t even aware he was in a relationship.

“I think your personal life and your work life should be separate. That’s just really something I took to heart,” he told Page Six. “We really want to grow in private and not in the public eye because sometimes when you’re in the public eye, you can’t get out of it. So why not just make the most of it and deepen that relationship rather than let the public have their opinions?”

As a young actor in Hollywood, Casalegno’s dedication to sharing his faith with his social media followers is truly inspiring.
