Good evening. Welcome to the 2025 National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.
As the Chairman of the Great American Family Channel, I’d like to call it The Great American National Christmas Tree Lighting!
What an honor it is to welcome you here tonight at the White House and Presidents Park. We are grateful to the President and First Lady, to our partners at the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation, and to the families here tonight and watching across the nation.
From the day our company was founded, our mission has been clear: to celebrate faith, family, and country through uplifting entertainment. Being chosen as the exclusive broadcast home of the National Christmas Tree Lighting is not just a privilege — it is the perfect expression of who we are and what we stand for.
The tradition of lighting a Christmas tree on the lawn of the White House began in 1923, bringing Americans together around a symbol of hope and unity. Great American Media is committed to preserving and elevating traditions like this — traditions that reflect our nation’s values and remind us of the light that Christmas brings to the world.
We believe deeply that this celebration belonged on a network devoted to honoring the season and the meaning behind it. And tonight, we are proud to share it with millions of families through Great American Family and Great American Pure Flix.
Our company exists to bring people together — to create content that strengthens homes, uplifts communities, and reflects the best of America. This event aligns perfectly with that calling. Everything you see tonight — the music, the storytelling, the gathering of families here in President’s Park — embodies the heart of Great American Media.
I want to thank our incredible team, both on the ground here in Washington and across our network, whose dedication made this broadcast possible. Their work ensures that this cherished American tradition is shared with viewers in every state, on every screen, and in every home that values faith, family and country. I want to thank our CEO Bill Abbott for his vision, hard work and dedication to our mission.
As we prepare to light the National Christmas Tree, we are reminded that one small light can shine across an entire nation. Great American Media is committed to being a part of that light — telling stories that inspire, programming that brings families together, and content that honors the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
